it's still kinda annoying that us closed beta supporters never got a weapon effect

they simply did not exist at that time?
on a related note: you want the orb chain too? extended sound pack? chris comoing to your home bowing down on his knees, thanking you personally for your donation? i better stop here...

Yay! I now have a giant shiny sword that makes a unique drop (ok I'm pretty sure the unique dropping was a coincidence - still - Shiny!)

over 2 million active players? Where did you get that number?

ahem, at least it's 2 million accounts.

In the past i have bought many games that was pure disappointment and the result was to pay 60$ for a good looking box in my shelf.

Ty for your awesome game. I really wish i could afford more to support you because u deserve every $ u get.

you are just jealous that other people now get real goods for showing their support?

I thinked "disheartened" would be a better description really..they have just devalued my supporter T-Shirt that was signed and made the whole process of being a origonal supporter cheap and tacky...

I could understand if they made a new game and used this concept again... But on the same game twice.... Is going to far and devalueing a loyal fans goods and takeing that away from them... Is a slap in the face and the pocket book.

and if you cooled down a bit and restart thinking you may notice that ggg does make less money from donations now by providing not just microtransactions (which costs does not scale for them) but real goods.

Unless you are GGG staff and have their financial reports... That would be credible...Untill then...Thats just non-sence optimisim to try and justify it.

in my view it was a mistake not providing supporter packs worth 3, 5 or 10k dollars in closed beta cause there are really rich altruistic guys out there who support idealism. it was probably due to the fact that ggg felt they cannot compensate the donator for that much money with the current staff they had.

Of course I agree they should have done this origonaly in CBT.... But bringing this all back again.... Just to squeeze every dime from the community at the sale of yet another game feature....
Even after the success of the origonal campaign...

What do they need our support from this time? Before it was clearly to help them make the game in the first place.... Now what? To make sure they can buy the cushion warmers they forgot the first time round?.

Where do GGG or the community draw the limit before they stop makeing out like they need our help....Poor GGG...Poor $2.5million dollars...Still not enough? When will they stop needing donations? What else do you think they will sell after you reward them for this type of shoddy practise?.

If the Path Of Exile community and the GGG staff wish to support the sale/modification of the core game whenever it pleases "GGGs pocket books" as a sales gimmick that never ends.... I dont want to be apart of that...

And I dont want the GGG team to get the impression that I/we support them mis-lableing there actions and this kind of game manipulation for never ending profit as a business model.... While still trying to keep the illustion of this not being "Pay-2-Win" and giving the entire game a High-roller-sandbox feeling.

It just sends a core message to the gameing community that I dont agree with or support.

to come back on topic, given the fact that the company was privately funded, exists since
2007 (7 years now) and chris said he will enlarge the dev team ... what's your opinion?
how large are costs for 20-30 specialists working constantly overtime and shifts + running a office building for that time and in the future?

Man, I think you will find alot of those staff were pritty much working for free, loving what they did and enjoying themselves makeing a game for gamers by gamers that they loved.... "With only a hope" they made money...

Well they struck it big now....And now I just dont want to see them use GGG as leaning post that they can gut anytime they feel like for profit... To support the company for the rest of its exsistance... They should branch out and aquire contracts like other successful studios now that there names are out there...To support there business like all other game companys.. I sure they have been flooded with offers by now...

They dont need our help anymore.... They just see the community as a "easy" money source now, and will continue to poke the community/game for money untill they dry up and turn the game into some tack-fest thats cheesy.

This whole...OBT supporter thing is a gimmick.. And people see this as a chance to get something that only the CBT supporters had... Its really community warfare at its finest and the only winners are GGG.

But if this community wants this as a focus point for sales at their expense and in the future... And likes this... Who am I to stop you?.. I just dont want to be apart of it as I think its underhanded and will subtract from the game over time and the community's feeling of appreciation and loyalty and that people will get sick of it fast.

Get out of town :)
I know they arnt in some small ass garage man... Theyre out west auckland chillin out right now... Thats just the otherside of my city man, Ive been past there office before.
And it probably Isnt cheap.
But thats there choice.
And if they want my money.... They can get back to developing the game or maybe even makeing a new game.... And hell... The money will flow.

Not ripping off the community or salling bits of the game, Not like this.

Its just isnt good bussiness.

Regards.

thank you. you obviously described it much better than myself, since i am no native.
this whole open beta supporter pack bullshit is nothing more that a slap in the face for the closed beta supporters.

in my opinion nobody should buy those to show ggg that its BS to charge twice for the same thing.

the plain kiwi already stands out enough given the fact that it now is unavailable to get ever again , and all other kiwis will also stand out for the same reason .

people will ALWAYS want what they cant get , or want what they did not receive prior to it , ie people will complain that the cb supporter packs was not good enough compared to OB , and ob purchasers will complain that cb one was better . people will never be happy with what they have , always want what someone else has , or what they could of had .
This is a crisis I knew had to come,
Destroying the balance I'd kept.

Fact is, people want to buy the packs. Should they not be allowed to because they weren't lucky enough to get a beta key during the CB period?

A few days ago while deleting some low level race chars and accidently deleted my main, GGG opted not to help me by restoring it.

ggg acknowledged that being a problem but at the moment it's just not possible fro them to do with a reasonably support effort to provide this service to the over 2 million actal players.

chris said they're thinking about a "soft delete" where support can restore deleted chars easier but it's simply not implemented. other thinks have priority at the moment. i'm sorry but you just deleted your char to early.

Who told you that fairy tale?

it's over 2 mil accounts, yes.

and for the soft delete i can only find support posts about it.

The cosmetic effects, titles, pets etc are nice, but the main reason I went for a supporter pack was so that PoE would continue to be around and get better.

I am very thankful that there are people who could afford to do more and thus make the game even better.

Maybe sometime down the line GGG can give the Kiwi pets a little something extra so even the plain ones stand out a little more?

The fact that they're totally unique should be what makes them stand out, not being covered in loads of particle effects and generally being an eyesore. IMO.

I agree on not adding any more visual effects. I was thinking some more sound effects (not sure how many different types of calls Kiwis have IRL) or maybe if 2 Kiwi pets are in the same town instance, they could sometimes chase each other around and play like real pets do.
