patch 11.0 and melee

i said it ( melee still sucks )about 2 hours in the patch survivability still really bad
The damage nerf to mobs is there but its nowhere near enough to make melee playable in higher maps . I really dont see a fix coming soon to be honest if there was it would of happend something is holding them back that im not seeing
The "fixes" that they put up for melee seems to me like they havent really played melee obviously this doesnt make any sense and sounds kinda stupid buts thats what im getting i dont know

The problem to me is that it doesn't matter how much they nerf monster damage, it will still benefit ranged builds just as much, resulting in it still making sense to play ranged.
Have not had a chance to test out the changes so I'm just surfing the forums how about

1. Add a keynote that increases survivability at the expense of projectile damage.
2. Add a keynote that increases survivability at the expense of AoE
3. Add a base 5-10% melee deflect stat when wielding a melee weapon

What i really dont get, is how bosses suddenly oneshot me. Damage for bosses seems to be out of control, really. That flicker spider in the 69 overgrown whatever map took out 5k of my health in the blink of an eye and since it seems like it has multistrike or something half a second later im dead.

I was planning to go for Onslaught, but now i dont think thats such a good idea anymore.

exactly what i noticed, no problem with normal mobs , but now often i can't stand boss damage because i have less hp.
I run two toons - Cyclone Marauder, and the requisite LA Shadow. The Marauder face rolled to the mid 50's, then I had to get extra careful...by 70 I found myself rage quitting on a regular basis due to spikey damage moments (multi mob flicker strike, reflect damage mobs before you recognized the prefix, etc). I tried to be different and not resort to usual builds and really tried to make a Cyclone build work --- call it memories of D2 and the WW Barb --- but I eventually shelved him as his survivability was pathetic.

Maybe the problem for me was that I also play a LA Ranger/Shadow who can solo ANYTHING. Put me in a group and I will slaughter everything and never get hurt. Solo...well I still slaughter, but just a little slower. I do immense damage, never get hit, have never had a "rage quit" moment. Hell the only thing that slows me down at all is the bizarre mod "Allies Reflect Elemental Damage" -- If I miss the first arrow volley I could kill myself, but I do keep Frenzy on the ready for those moments.

Anyways, I was so excited to bring the Maruader out of retirement last night. Tried him out and was completey underwhelmed...actually found no improvement at all. Sure my stated DPS said it was slightly higher but I found my survivability was pathetic. Level 70, went to the Docks, spun into first group of fire dragons and I died. WTF??? That never happened before. Resurrect, go back to docks, spin for 20 seconds in group of skele archers but nothing is dying --- except me ---- POT, POT, Flask, spin spin spin...finally they die. What? That was pathetic, slow, and worst of all dangerously close to dying.

So I have been planning a radical Staff build for Cyclone. In theory you get Two handed damage output with 30+ Block %. I have 3-4 staffs to choose from one with phys damage of 220-360 and another with 210-340 but elemental mods that add another mixed lot to take it close to 500 end dmg. So hit the button and respec.
Drum roll please......

I died just as fast...and even with all those massive Staff damage and Phys Dmg nodes all I did was massively Gimp a poor toon into a pathetic toon. Back to the shelf with you my friend.

Log my 76 LA Shadow in, pop into Catacombs, wipe it in 2 minutes. Nothing touches me, I dont think my Energy Shield ever disappeared not to mention my life ball moving. So I pop a 68 map with mods that I like (extra mob size, etc) and clear it in about 4 minutes. That time I actually popped one health potion as I there was a couple Reflect dmg packs, but once again, throw up my Totem, and blast them with Frenzy and voila, dead. Back to Lightning Arrow, rinse repeat. Simple, safe, and Faceroll mania.

Melee Sucks.
After the patch my shield Marauder feels more solid, but can be nuked by by 6-8 elemental caster champs if they all hit at once. But i'm fine with that.

I lost roughly 400 life, gained 200 dps without respec. Monsters dropped just as fast as before. Overall i gained some survivability, but little else.

And i'm fine with that. If this game ever went total faceroll, i'm gone. If i wanted to sleep at the wheel i would be playing D3 still.

After the patch my Ele cleaver lost 700 health and 750 dps and 3% Maximum resistance. I had trouble with the dungeon boss before the patch so I went back in there to try him again and bam! 2 shot dead. Over all I don't see anything good come from the change I just teeter on a small amount of life now which really sucks.

I just cant believe in half of this posts ...
WIth my crit dagger shadow NOW i can stand in middle of 15 dock dogs(blue ones) and they can do nothing to me... 2 swings and hp is back to 100%. And this is low life build only 2.6k and with auras 2.2k.

If someone cant pass this mobs its just ridiculous. Sorry to tell this person but your build sux as fak.

On the other hand map bosses are problems coz VAAL can 1 shot even 7k hp characters. Time to be creative and make NEW builds to face changes.
Stop QQ'ing about balance changes, better adapt and finally learn something about game mechanics to make OWN fun build, not copy Krip while he has mostly no idea what to build, as he does something little kiddos follow and he gets cash for steaming. He doesnt care how builds will perform later on, he needs stupid kids watching his stream.
