Pure Phys Bow for 11.2 (Split Arrow/Crit/Frenzy Updated 7-19-13

Ok, I've been getting a few pm's about my take on Sorrow's build, and I'll just share what I've been doing since the patch.

I've actually changed from split arrow to frenzy now:

Skill Tree:

Also, I sold my 6L assassin garb to fund some crafting projects of mine, but was lucky enough to 6L my new chest:

Reasons for switching to frenzy:

Honestly, when u link frenzy to LMP or GMP, they are very similiar in mechanic (frenzy with lmp looks exactly like split arrow, except it's faster). My DPS has stayed about the same, but with 6 frenzy charges up (7 once GGG lets us change Bandits reward) my aps has jumped from 6.5 APS to over 9 APS. I had a 20/20 weapon elemental gem linked as well, but I'm running with knockback right now and the loss in dps is totally justified imo (I've actually bugged a few of the map bosses; I knock them back so fast they get "caught" on the edges of the screen or other in-game environments, making them un-hittable!). Knockback at high attack speed is VERY effective, and helps with survivability a ton. I stiil run the ranged attack totem with ROA. My movespeed is also up from 80% to ~100%.

Current Issues:

Before the patch, I was running with 2.2k life and was having no problems surviving. With gear and skill point changes, I'm down to 1.5k life and have died twice (over a week of playtime, but still unacceptable to me). I may take some more life nodes or make some gear changes in the future if I can't adapt. The increased runspeed in my build is very important to survival! Anyone attempting this low-life build with out insane runspeed/attackspeed is asking for trouble imo (my movespeed is almost 200% with arctic armor and quicksilver up).

Only other issue that I see is that with the boost in attackspeed, without a 20/20 mana leech gem I don't think the build is possible. Even though it only costs 44 mana, 9 attacks per sec drains the mana globe quickly.

I'll try to post a video soon. If nothing else, this is probably my favorite character out of all my toons. Everything else just feels SLOW...Clears any content faster than pretty much any build I've seen. Glass cannon 100%. Still tweaking and will post any changes I make.

Edit- Just wanted to add, for those not using Unwavering Stance keystone, blind works insanely well with this build as well.

Thanks for your insight Kolp!

Yea i've actually respecced a bit into more health because when i initially made the build it was pre 11.0 and the survivability on a lower life build was "supposed" to be easier due to lowered monster damage but really it isnt :P. But the build is almost exactly the same just added 6 life nodes.

I'm still running split arrow with fork etc.. and doing fine. I'm using Ice Shot totem, the chill helps to slow mobs down.

I'll give knockback a try on my SA, sounds fun!

BTW your gear is retarded good kolp..... :P

Just wanted to give many thanks to Sorrows81 and Kolp for taking the time to make all of this information available. I was noodling around with a physical bow build as well as considering spec-ing for increased movement speed for a new Anarchy league toon. This thread has been a goldmine. I started as a Shadow but scrapped that toon in favor of a Duelist (proximity to some keystones I wanted early). Again, thanks for giving me plenty of info to make yet another currency sucking alt =D

No problem! Anytime anyone wants to runs some maps in standard league, hit me up (ign Penthesia). I also agree with going duelist for this build; if i had to do it over I would go duelist too.

So I'm level 71 now and finally took the time and blow some currency on some better (mind you i said better not beastmode) gear to cap my resists and add some more health. The difference on survivability is night and day with capped resists (obviously). Now i'm not saying you can sit and facetank with this build, far from it. But at least archer skele's arent 4 shotting you :P, and caster mobs aren't a threat at all anymore.

With the Gear below I'm sitting at about 2400 health, capped resist and 1400dps tooltip on my SA. I took Kolps advise and went to RoA totem, it scales much better with our phisical bow damage nodes than ice shot did.

With the remainder of my points as i level they will be going toward crit/runspeed/more damage or possibly mana nodes. I think I'm sitting just fine at 2400 health and almost 5k armor with grace up. (Still the goal is to NOT get hit if you dont have to with this build :P).

Overall I'm really enjoying this build and happy to say it's my new main. Much more fun than my 77 dual totem incinerate slacker build :P

I am rerolling my level 31 Ranger, and love this build. I was wondering, which way do you go first on passive tree? Down to unwavering stance, or up to the shadow side?
Currently level 63, gearing up a bit(More life, capping resists etc.). Other than that I'm doing fine.

Got this bow for level 66 <3

then i've few question:
-Should I go for unwavering stance or going north for assassination is better? Maybe it will be easier to upgrade my stuff whitout stun recovery..
-I've dropped an exalted orb, if I want to trade it, a good bow is a good idea or some unique could be recommended?
-Any other comment with my tree/gear?

Your tree looks good for lvl 60. I'm currently 74 and I've found a few things that might help.

- I dropped fork altogether, You really don't need it with the amount of arrows your shooting anyway (free's up a slot for quality culling strike, iiq/iir etc if you want).

- As far as unwavering goes i really haven't had any trouble with being stunned except for the occasional archer skele pack's that can get annoying with it. I would spend a few more points on life, and then start working on phys% nodes and attack speed nodes. As long as your resists are capped and your armor is somewhere around 5-6k with grace up then you will be just fine with 2000-2200 health for end game. I'm doing just fine right now with my current gear build at 6700armor with grace and 2100 health doing maps.
