I don't find split arrow to be very good nor reliable, so I switched back to LA with chain for now, and fire arrow for main attack. |

Your gear at time of respec, not one piece had health on it, thats a big problem :P
Also, there's no real benefit to using chain with split arrow just use a quality fork IMO, fork requires less mana, and you don't take the damage reduction you do with chain. I really don't know why you were having such a hard time, almost all the mobs i come across are dead before they get near me. IGN: MojozBallsAreHuge

" Yes but with all the health nodes I had i still had near to 1100 health. After respec I had about 700. Now with health items I have about 1000 again. Also had to take a few armor nodes. Still have to kite a lot because a pack of 3+ enemies can kill me with just a few hits. What is your level and DPS? One reason split arrow isn't that good is because the spread with death's harp is quite large, so you miss a lot... |

I'm trying this build next after playing melee and wander. I'm finding it difficult to gear up because I'm usually looking for armor/ES gear, and that's what I have leftover from my templar character.
Whilst leveling, how do you get enough STR and/or INT so that you equip stuff? Or do you simply look for pure evasion gear? Evasion sucks. Therefore, Iron Reflexes is needed. Which path should I take first? kolp went for both the EVA and attack starting points. Sorrows, you took the atk/projectile route. I have another question revolving around this build's play style. I've played LA shadow, and I was easily able to get to Eldrich Battery for mana, but starting as ranger is challenging. Spamming Split Arrow quickly depletes mana, so right now I'm resorting to Poison Arrow in the early game because its AOE and single target seems to land hits better. " As far as Str and Int goes I took the 2 +30 nodes to the west of the starting area which has covered me so far. I've mentioned in the first post a CON to this build is mana management until you're able to slot mana leech at 31. I'm not going to sugar coat it and say that this build is more viable than a cookie cutter LA build, but i didn't want to be just another "Hey, lets go look up HvC's lightning arrow build and just copy that". The build requires alot of movement and kiting. One thing this build excels at is group play though. And even without EB you can still run your 3 damaging auras. IGN: MojozBallsAreHuge
