After playing like 3 hours yesterday and getting exactly 1 rare drop, with all others being instagrabbed by ppl with either VERY LOW ping (yeah right)or lootbots, it only confirmed my feeling of FFA-loot being the most retarded thing ever.....
And no, i won´t even go into detail here, if someone doesn´t understand why it´s bad, you should play more different games and stop fanboying.... |

" While I think you are right about the loot, I believe there is a real chance GGG will add proper guild support in-game. [God knows they need to do something to improve the sense of community in the game, before it's too late]. As soon as it becomes easy to find players who think like you and are on the hours you are on, and when it is easy to form small close-knit guilds with proper support in-game, there will be no public games, there will be no FFA loot heartache, unless you seek out a guild that actively supports "loot contention". This will sort everything out. Ninjas always prefer to join "no ninja" groups, but they will be immediately weeded out from "no ninja" guilds. In fact they will have nowhere to operate except in groups (or guilds) with other ninjas. Where they belong. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

" Actually with the exception of friends-only parties, the loot system just took a massive stride towards loot to name, or instanced or whatever you want to call it. Now that I have been playing with it for some time, I have totally tuned into the loot and do not miss name-plates one bit. It is now easier to spot your items (less overall clutter and they are LIT UP) and you have 1 second more to get them. Now, for friends parties the new system is a pain because when an item isn't yours, you cannot tell whose it is or who to pick it up for and give later if the main party has moved on. The option to restore names would be good for this situation, or, better still, keep going with the timer extension to increase the chance the right people get the right loot. The recent timer extension seems to have gone down with little complaint, so I suggest go that bit further (eg 5 seconds) and it will be all good. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

" Was it too hard? Ninja in PoE = someone who picks up loot that was allocated to someone else after timer runs out, despite agreeing not to. You really didn't know that? What else did you think it could mean?? Anyway, my point is simple. When (if) small guild support is added to the game, people will end up ONLY grouping with their guild and will (of course) have joined a guild whose loot rules suit them. Ninjas will die out except in ninja-friendly guilds. See, you can join a "no ninja" party and lie (yes ninjas LIE believe it or not!!) and swipe the first Exalted you see anyway. But do it in a guild and you are kicked. Simple. Small guild support is the other (better) way to give loot options without changing the loot system. Everybody wins. Except ninjas. So....are you against in-game guild support as well? Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress. Last edited by GhostlightX#1022 on Mar 27, 2013, 9:54:35 AM

" I don't use the term ninja because it simply does not hold any true meaning for me when it comes to LOOT in a ARPG. I just think its a whiney word used by whiney people. Ninja this and ninja that, its just annoying bibble bable. Personally i think anyone who uses the term NINJA should be banned for life. Last edited by Vooodu#7002 on Mar 27, 2013, 9:58:04 AM

" a "ninja" in Path Of Exile, is a player who joins a party primarily for the loot. mostly the kind of loot that doesn't belong to him. the simple ninja type will stand there while others do all the fighting, then quickly move-in and grab any valuable loot that drops. such players are mostly easy to spot and kick out of your party. enter the "sophisticated" ninja. this guy will - at least on first sight - fight stuff and help other players in tight situations, but will also take all loot he comes across. mostly not his loot. he'll be exploiting various running speed bonuses and the fact his comrades are in another battle. he will take the loot first, then join-in. or not. " And this prevents you understanding what other people mean when they use the term? Fascinating. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

" Except... POE is Free For All loot. So, no drop belongs to anyone. Also. Someone who stands around not fighting and looting is a moocher not a Ninja. Maybe its because the only other online ARPG i've ever played is D2. Ya, i played D3 but i don't consider that an ARPG at all. |
