lets hope so. when they give us options to select loot to name when creating games, I will buy more ingame credits and start playing again.

Just started playing a few weeks ago and after reading a lot of other threads, this one actually wanted me to login to post.
I personally don't feel like there can be a gray area with this, it's either allocated or free for all. Changing the system to 1 second or 5 seconds or even 2 milliseconds, the overall feeling of the game will be either FFA or allocated. After wasting my youth on D2, I vote allocated. Otherwise I would probably, like many others, would create a pick-it system and just win all the time. Allocated makes it actually fun to play with my friends rather than just myself. It's kind of a new light from D2 because all I ever used my friends for in that game is to Grush/rush me or do an XFER/transfer.. Your choice, I like it so far, but I could be completely wrong and FFA could be the way to go. I vote allocated though, I really enjoy playing with my IRL/online friends. |

" This. Soooo much this. I played D2 on and off for about 10 years and while i loved the game obviously, the loot system made it a single player game experience for all intents and purposes. My friends and I used eachother for rushes, Xfers, and occasionally a corpse retrieval if we were so fortunate. Ive always enjoyed the coop experience but the FFA loot makes it pointless to play. The only part of D3 that I enjoyed was the fact that I could play with friends and not be punished by the loot system for doing so. Literally, the only part. |

My friends and I haven't tried PoE because after our experiences with D2's FFA loot we refuse to play any game without some form of fully allocated loot. Marvel Heroes Online has now set a release date of June 4th, and it has instanced loot, so if PoE hasn't given us an instanced loot option by then, that's where my friends and I will go for our ARPG fun.
It's a pity, since PoE sounds like a superior game in several ways, but instanced loot trumps all other considerations for us. On the upside, PoE's FFA fanatics won't have to read my complaints anymore. Oh, wait, they can already avoid that...by just not reading my complaints anymore. :) |

Marvel Heroes sucks ass.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

im sorry but i never heard of marvel heroes and i know for sure just the loot system doesnt make or break a game. i surely havent ever made a decision to play a game or not based off loot lol. its all about customization and hard choices for me. if thats ur decision on it...it seems as though we dont need u.
besides all this there needs to be a couple sec more time to not go ffa imo. if u play ranged characters/glass cannons u are not anywhere near where u can instantly grab "ur dibs" this isnt fair imo. as far as the loot system currently it makes it very easy to determine what urs immediately or not. its simple or u are making it more complicated that it needs to be. thats for all previous posters. its simple. hell u could even make the darker loot thats isnt urs even darker and it would be better to not see all till it become available to u tbh.
damage modifiers don't can currently can't apply to degen.
"Getting all life nods on passive tree should give additional survival, not the mandatory basic survival." .\1.2/ ..\3/ Last edited by leighferon#0786 on Mar 26, 2013, 4:18:40 AM

" The loot system has a lot to do with how people enjoy a game... ergo it has a significant effect on the bottom line. I am one of many who have left games due to loot allocation systems. I personally know and guild with quite a few others who have as well - and it is pretty obvious reading through here that it is a major issue for a large part of the player base. Personally I'd like to see a change as discussed in other threads that includes options. I like the game and would like to keep playing it. People who leave a game because of unresolved issues obviously don't need it in any case... they also don't need immature elitist remarks like "we dont need u" either. It solves nothing and makes the game weaker. A win/win situation is better - one where more players stay after trying the game rather than leave. One where people aren't forced to play solo online or group with a small dedicated group all the time to avoid asinine boneheads that play and make stupid comments such as this - which gets boring real fast. I think the game has potential and would like to see it succeed rather than fail on a small sticking point such as this. Last edited by Thulza_Doom#0768 on Mar 26, 2013, 4:31:46 AM

" Well put, the strength of your argument was only augmented by the RIDICULOUS bad spelling in the post you quoted. "We dont need u" No, you need to stop typing like you're texting your friend because no one can take you seriously "Wen u snd lk ds" |

" You should try the game again. The recent changes to the system have improved the multiplayer experience. They are going in the right direction with allocated loot in default/hardcore. Now they just need to give the Pro-FFA loot crowed a playground. They should use the old system in the next multiplayer race. And they should use the old system in the new cut-throat league. " I am glad we can agree, with the extra length on the timer it is very easy now. I was playing in full pub games in the one week race yesterday and everyone was doing their best to get anything decent that dropped and I had time to walk all the way around people to pick something up. (I must say, people in the games I was in were great and offered to give some very good items to each other without trading – good fun) Once I broke some vases and a couple of decent orbs fell while everyone was off screen and I had to wait about 4 seconds before I could get them. The timer does slow the game down, but it is grudgingly acceptable. I am glad the names are gone at least; it makes things much less stressful. " If you mean they should make it ‘no timer ffa’ in races, that would be fun, but at the same time I personally would favor consistency in all areas of the game instead of having to adjust how I play depending on the league. /edit spelling |
