Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.

I seriously don't get how adding loot options is gonna be bad for the game. It's like having the option to play hardcore or softcore. Or even choosing a character class. GGG doesn't force you to play hardcore only and starting with the same character class. You have choices that you can make. I don't get how it's gonna affect pro FFA loot players.

People probably bitch that GGG should give them an option to choose the door themselves....OPTIONS!!!!
I love the loot system. I like the explanation on how GGG explained themselves on behalf of it.

Of course a lot of the things people dislike about this game is what I love about it. Now I wish I can be able to play more then I do.
the looting-system is "conceptionally" good now, or at least there is not much left to improve it if they still want to keep this cut throat thing, but i should also get an item if i click 10 times on it.

So it still feels half baked.

The ProFFA people sounds like this when they post:
"I want to grief noobs lol! I must ruin everybodies fun just because i get a joy out of being a D-bag to everyone i dont know! lolol MY LOOT NOOBS!".

Thats not how Pro FFA people sound.

But, its very clear assesment or view on how people who hate FFA loot view FFA players.

See, at the end of the day. Us FFA players simply see loot as pile of 'DROPS' with a first come first serve concept. Nothing more or nothing less.

There is NO bitching about who gets what.

There is NO bitching about who got what.

There is NO bitching PERIOD when it comess to the actual looting.

But, on the other hand. Anyone wanting loot options or instanced loot are indeed constantly complaining/bitching about everything and anything.

From not getting this drop, to having stuff stolen, to crying about when and where people pick up drops.

Seriously... Get over it.

i like rusty doors ;) and i wont go away cause reading your post are such fun for me
I want to share a simple experience I had in a pub group the other day. I think it speaks a lot of how bad the loot system is for the game.

So I was farming docks with randoms. Of course a lot of ninjaing attempts were going on from everyone. Then, a MAP (!!!) droped. I spoted it first, click click click... I got it just as the person who's droped it was was closing in.

He didn't say a word, he just left the party. I would have given it to him if he had stayed and QQed (I'm not short on maps). Tried to message him, he had logged off. He was probably mad, given how rare maps drops are. I fully sympathies with him.

This is how bad the loot system is for the morale of players in the game. It made me feel bad, it made the victim mad, but how can I not ninja stuff when everyone does it to me?

Just wondering what makes you think it was his? Even tho, the game is clearly FFA.

But even if it was 'his'. How did you know it wasn't anyone elses? Since there is no name. For all you know he could have lagged out and you are just assuiming things.

And what the hell is a ninja attempt? You make it sound as if people shouldn't be picking up drops just because of some chance timer. Just playing the game as is does not make anyone a ninja.

Because it being a part of the game doesn't nullify the act itself. By your logic there was no ninjas in D2 either. Ya it was an FFA game and ninjaing was technically "legal". That doesn't at all mean that "ninjaing" is no longer real. Its a part of the game, its encouraged, that doesn't change what it is.

That is why people use the word. Get over it.
