I generally agree with this, but I think it's more a question of constant comparing PoE to Diablo, not actually trying to replicate it.
Diablo was innovative in many respects, and it's hard to imagine any game in this genre not resembling (1, 2 or 3) in any aspect. What I think is that actually this has become a sort of obsession, in the looting system as well. Having said that, I think giving players looting options would, indeed, be an innovation compared to Diablo, since all 3 of the D games have been homogeneous in this regard.
Loot Settings. That's what we need. You want FFA loot? Sure go find a party with it enabled. You want loot to be allocated? Sure go find a party with it enabled. Less drama, more action.

GGG has made it very clear about how they want loot to work in this game. Removing the NAMES from the drops just proves that.

loot options please, if you want ffa join a group, if you want allocation join a group, nuff said this will pull the tampon outta the ass of all the loot Q.Q ers i dont disagree with the current loot system but if soo many of the community object there has got to be something to it, and this multiboxing to farm is really reallly reallllllyyyy unfair. gives people who have a top of the line machine the option to be able to farm better simply because they can multi account and port every one in there is many streams where i see this happening and it straight pisses me off. i mean that pretty much enables the ability to farm currency quickly so the spammers can have more shit to sell to people who will pay real cash for orbs. just my point of view best of luck everyone and may all your drops be epic!

In CB i said and many along with me that OB would increase the pressure to fix the grief&ninja looter system.

And what happened? 870+ pages on the loot system.

Heres a tip if GGG doesnt have time to fix it completely in the nearest future:

1. GGG is completely ignoring a big part of the community.

I think this game shows great promise, but the developers refuse to see some of the major problems. Diablo 2 is over 10 years old and can be played offline. This cant be the measuring point of gamedesign. To set an outdated mechanik, that wasnt even good and liked by everyone back then, as the goal.

I really hope they change their mind about a few things and start to tackle the loot and hp issure.(how about, less enemy dmg output, less skillbasedmg, less effective support gems, way more enemy hp and more efficient dmg nodes....)

How can devs be so ignorant, there are clear issues with the game and yet *their vision* must be unchanged.
I have no hope right now with patches if thats the stance GGG has.

Diablo 3 did that, the game that failed.

FFA *IS* loot stealing/griefing.
HP has *NO DOWNSIDE*, no weakness...its the BEST defence... how can devs not realize this...
People just stack support+dps gems and HP passive nodes and get decent DPS compared to DPS builds *BUT* with much higher survivability.
And about FFA looting and bosses in Diablo 2...
Newsflash! People used Multiloading or joined 6-7 player games and soloed mephisto runs/Countess runs/Baal runs *just to AVOID FFA loot stealers*.
Has the dev being interviewed even played Diablo 2 or read about how people farm in it?

That interview only makes me think of this:

Thats not how Pro FFA people sound.


But, its very clear assesment or view on how people who hate FFA loot view FFA players.



See, at the end of the day. Us FFA players simply see loot as pile of 'DROPS' with a first come first serve concept. Nothing more or nothing less.


There is NO bitching about who gets what.


There is NO bitching about who got what.


There is NO bitching PERIOD when it comess to the actual looting.



But, on the other hand. Anyone wanting loot options or instanced loot are indeed constantly complaining/bitching about everything and anything.

From not getting this drop, to having stuff stolen, to crying about when and where people pick up drops.

Seriously... Get over it.




Id say don't let the door hit you on the ass' on the way out. But, at this point im thinking alot you guys would just complain about the door being too soft, too hard or to rusty.
