Wanting loot options has nothing to do with being casual or carebears... sorry, but it doesn't. I want the game to be harder. I want stiffer death penalties. I want REAL PERM death in HC, none of this spill into Default so I can sell all my stuff off to buy more HC stuff. I want looting options to make partying with friends less of a hassle. I want looting options to make the game appeal to a wider audience which in turn generates higher revenue for GGG and hopefully in the long run means more content. Adding loot options does not make the game easier. Picking up loot is not challenging.

Yes, it's the wider context that has been missing from many of the posts made in favour of FFA-only. And I agree regarding HC. Non-perm death with a resurrection in SC doesn't seem quite right, and, in fact, makes HC easier to a higher degree than a instancing option would facilitate Default.
Also, if the game really is to be harder, then why not institute a level penalty for death, i.e. You can also lose levels when You die too many times? That would be tough, not a minor hindrance in rankings progress in the form of not being able to pick up what wasn't alloted to You. Of course, without the option of regaining that skill point You invested before :)

agree with this. i gave up long time ago :) already uninstalled game actaully. now i just sit here for voodu's post. so /popcorn

uninstalled the game also, got bored of playing alone and won't join groups with this loot system. Yes, I prefer quitting than joining groups and having no loot coz of my ping :).

It always baffles me why people cheer about others leaving the game they like. It's like people hate growth and success and want a game that's going to limp on for a year or two and fail. Is that really how you all think? You don't want others to have fun? You only want people to have fun your way? Are you willing to sacrifice your game's future for that?

Guess that's reason why you're just the player and neither the developer or the business manager, eh?

I've given up on this thread as well now, but I am truly baffled as to why anybody would want the game to have a smaller playerbase. What further baffles me is the fact that people who say "Yeah go back to D3 you noob" are telling people to go and play one of this game's closest competitors in the ARPG genre.

I can see both sides to the argument though. I do like to have a larger playerbase, but if there's going to be a certain percentage that ISNT happy with the game AS IS, then they may NEVER be happy.

For example, despite all my detailed posts containing my arguments to support the fact that the looting system could use a bit of a rework I still quite enjoy this game a lot. It does not mean that I would quit if my 'demands' have not been met. No, no, no. It's certainly not like that. If anything I have made it clear that what I have stated is my opinion for a change to make the system better because I see a flaw in game design. Whether or not GGG decides to do anything to fix the flaw is up to them, but they should also be aware that not fixing the flaw COULD make things worse for their game.

I agree partially that if you don't like the game overall that you should leave. Looting is a pretty major aspect of the game, and I understand that it may ruin your experience, but it's still a "fun" game which is what we're all here for.

No one is going to tell me what "fun" is though. I'm looking at GGG, as well as the majority of the people who have posted negatively in this thread with my previous statement.
