Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.
" The kind of players(people) that ask the question "why?" instead of just blindly saying that things are always perfect just the way they are without any questioning. Why can't you answer our questions? WHY is it good that public groups have forced loot competition while solo and private parties hasn't? "that's the ways it's intended" "that's the way it is" "it's like that in D2" "just because" "it's common sense" "deal with it" Are NOT valid answers. |
" You fail to accept any answers because you choose to. Which is your problem not mine. Please tell me why playing with friends or playing solo is such a bad option when choosing to play the game other then the way its intended to be played? For me, its simple. For you its complicated. Because i choose to simply 'deal with it' and enjoy it. Last edited by Vooodu#7002 on Mar 15, 2013, 12:45:56 PM

LoL!
I just ninjad an exalted orb. Still I find the current loot system completly retarded. Well played GGG! PS.: Its really satisfying to think about the wannabe cutthroat kid who is crying now. Ok, now more serious: What did I do? I joined a party to leech quests and xp and ninjad exalted orb. Then I immiditly left to save the status. Believe me or not but in the early beginning of the game exactly the same happend, I ninjaed an exalted orb but then the server crashed and I lost it. nvm though. So now I "found" 2 exalted from other players and 1 by myself. You can call my whatever you want but I am just playing the game as viable as possible and ninjaing and destroying other peoples game is currently viable. Thats how it is. Not desireable at all. The situation makes me an **** but everything is made by situation. But obviously GGG wants players to be ****s There is no feeling of regret because I have no relation to other players. if you know me in Real life you would know thats absolutly not my nature to be an ass but the game enforces such a behaviour and limits players social interaction JUST BECAUSE OF THE LOOT SYSTEM Though I should feel happy about my gain I feel even more that the current loot system is PoE downfall. |
" I feel the opposite. There are TWO of you defending the loot, everyone else is against it. But never mind that, GO LOOK IN GAME....try to get a 70+ Map group with loot rules other than "Maps to creator, loot to named". You won't, unless you are very lucky. No one is using FFA as far as I can see. Not in endgame anyways. Shrug. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.
" Why? Easy to do this; many other games do it quite happily, including the most successful multiplayer game in video gaming history (that shall remain unnamed). And in PoE group leader can kick you, is that not control? You haven't thought this argument through much have you? Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

" I will accept any answer that actually answers the question. So please, WHY is it good that public groups have forced loot competition while solo and private parties hasn't? " Well, many of us usually don't have friends availible to play this specific game at a specific character level on every time of the day. They are not bad options. But I see no reason why they should be the only options. The questions here is WHY is it good that they are the only options? Also, what do you mean the way it's intended to be played? You do know that it's primarily a single player game, right? So if anythingm it's intended to be played solo. And how much loot competition do you have there? None. So saying that the game is meant to be played with loot competition is not really true. " Ignorance is bliss, I guess. |
" I can give you my personal answers to that.... Playing this game solo is incredibly boring. This combat in this game is much more enjoyable multiplayer (apart from the FFA loot ruining it). It is very difficult to make (new) friends in this game IN THE GAME, because the playerbase seems very anti-social. In groups you are met with suspicion because you are the next potential ninja. No one talks much as they are keeping up with the pack to ensure they don't get ninjaed and are thus under consdierable stress the whole time. All of these factors are simply not conducive to building a good community. In fact they are anti-social in and of themselves. And before you ask, no it is no just me. I am a very sociable gamer. As I stated many pages back, I made a huge number of friends in Diablo 3 without even trying, and I put that down to the instanced loot. When no one can steal your stuff, you intrinsically trust them. Trust builds camaraderie. Camaraderie build community. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

" BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN ANSWERED 100 TIMES IN THIS THREAD WISE-ASS.(no offence) To quote myself again: " That is why and if anyone says no arguments were presented in this thread should be kicked in the nuts to learn to stop trolling and read before answering instead. " OK now i realized your views on the game. They are WAY different than mine. I find it completely irrational, dysfuntional and actually impossible to add options for conveniences in the game in an online game. The game itself is competitive. Every single one would choose the easiest option. Because it is an online game! I usually play single player games at high difficulty and i gather that you do you as well. But it's silly to suggest to players to gimp themselves, if they want, in comparison to others in an online game (without giving something in return). You do understand that yes? There can't be an "option". It's either FFA or Instanced. I prefer FFA for the reasons i explained earlier which are pretty valid and i'm sorry if you don't agree. " I'll answer again quoting myself. " There you go. You can receive X perfectly well. Therefore you do not need Y. You have communicating capabilities have you not? Also claiming it is hard to find people and accusing the community for being anti-social is just silly and maybe the anti-social one is not the community but someone else... There are threads on the forums, you can find people in-game, i've encountered many decent people myself without some kind of effort. " +1 to this. Anyway i feel like i'm wasting my time, none is going to read a 800+ page thread... I just hope the developers won't be swayed and stick to their currently great ideology. I wish they would close this thread.
I am sick of the bullshit from both side's of the argument,It's not getting anywhere just 3 or 4 people arguing points that have all be said before. It's not adding anything to the discussion that the thread was about, just snide remarks and bickering. |
