Common sense says that if your vision is to provide X (FFA) to the player, then all players will receive vision of X. But if not all players are receiving X (people in friends only groups or solo), then why not give the people who don't want it the option of Y (other than FFA)?
I could not have put it better myself.
Enforcing FFA on public games only doesn't make much sense.

WRONG. The option to do that with other people does not exist. I'm not talking about with friends... cause that is already obvious. I'm talking when I'm in a public group while the dudes I play with are offline. Instead I am forced to go into FFA mode and ninja people's shit. THEN I get bitched at because I tell them I'm not giving their stuff back. I feel like an ass and rightfully so. The system shouldn't forced on THOSE players. I enjoy FFA, but not them... and it's only fair to provide a system where they can have fun too. It would have no effect on player like you, me, and other people that play FFA now and love it.

You could almost use hardcore league in this example. Why make hardcore as a optional league if you could just delete your character if he dies yourself? Convenience? No... it's more than that.
Maybe a bad example, but just a thought...

Of course random people in public games will mostly be greedy and won't share as much as friends. Thats the way it should be.. Also, thats how it was in D2. I don't see the problem.
To me its common sense. Its also funny as hell to read that some of you have issues with this.
The new angle of the day you are trying to spin against FFA loot its pretty lame.

I wanted to quote this again because I have another point.
I would like a way to play that involves killing other players for loot they picked up that I wanted. It would slow the game a helluva lot more, but it would make PVP feel natural and looting feel more... what's the word I'm looking for... cutthroat?

Your ADD is kicking in. I said you're right, BUT... when I'm with randoms I don't get that playstyle choice anymore. It's forced to FFA playstyle only. Making more friends is NOT a solution I am open to hearing.

BTW, my ADD is a gift. It helps my brain sift throught bullshit faster.
And really its not FORCED FFA playstyle. Its just the way it is. GGG made this game they and didn't force you to play it.. Its a FREE GAME??!?!
