" since you maybe dont' know marketing science i can help you here in the marketing studies, have proved that ONLY 5% of the dissatisfied customers actually tell to their company that they are dissatisfied...the majority of the dissatisfied customers LEAVE IN SILENCE... in the world as it is in 2013 you CANT' assume in your business that people who do not complain are OK with that...they arent' and given the chance they will LEAVE and will NEVER tell you (company) their problems... assuming that only "whiners" talk in this thread and the rest of the playerbase is happy will ONLY bring the downfall.... and hell we have the No1 problem thread in the whole forums...not even dsync problem threads do not stay THAT long, they dont' even reach 100 thread pages.... When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself Last edited by killbilly#2346 on Mar 12, 2013, 1:48:23 PM

" I think the cause is partially because the moderators have forced all looting issues go here, while desync threads pop up often in their own separate thread. I just wouldn't use that to support what you've said already, but the business fact is more or less true. You had a point there. IGN: Mibuwolf Last edited by mibuwolf#7946 on Mar 12, 2013, 2:15:43 PM

" If you know anything about statistics, you know you can't take the results of one study and apply it to something else, unless the underlying factors are at least substantially the same, with no hidden variables that would make it invalid. The responses on this thread are voluntary, and reliable studies don't rely on voluntary responses. In order to determine what players want, someone would have to take a random poll of random accounts, and it would need to be a decent sized percentage of the whole since we don't know how homogeneous the POE player base is. As far as customer satisfaction polls go and customers silently leaving for an alternative, then there has to be a viable alternative for them to choose. It is true that people tend to complain as feedback more often than they praise. You can't really derive much from that. If you examine most consumer complaints I think you will find that people are usually complaining about their expectations not being met. I'm not saying those expectations are valid, but when people expect them and they don't get them, they aren't happy. "The only legitimate use of a computer is to play games." - Eugene Jarvis

" If the devs really wanted to drive people crazy, the multiplayer game drops could operate the same way as D2's countess money drops - one at at time like a slot machine shooting out quarters. Then there would really be some delay and scrambling. They could just do it on certain monsters - instead of hidden "wealth" mob, the monsters would have the "vegas" mod. " its a joke because your comparison has nothing to do with the loot system. for one they have never said its "their way or the highway".. and this game is in beta. secondly demon's souls didn't have any of the complaints that dark souls had, it was loved and from software knew they had a hit.. why would they of changed the formula for dark souls just because xbox players couldnt handle it when they already had a success with demon's souls. you are comparing a game in beta to a sequel... and lastly dark souls and demon's souls just proves that loot has no factor in the challenge of a game.. neither of them had ffa loot and they are about as challenging of a game as you can get. infact the loot in those games was exact. if you wanted a certain piece of loot you knew exactly how to get it. " I didn't need to address loot, he didn't bring it up in his post. He did talk about the direction that developers should not take in regards to their gaming audience: "my way or the highway" and the claim that gamedevs don't want to push away players, which he was talking about was he not? I wonder if you even read the post that I responded too. So no, I wasn't comparing it in the way you think I was. I was merely proving him wrong in that not every developer wants to cater to every type of player and mentioned said games as an example. About there not being any complaints in Demon's Souls, this is wrong, there were complaints, just not as much because it was a PS3 exclusive title and only available in JP and US for a long time, leaving EU out until much later. Dark Souls was for both PS3 and Xbox and was released in all regions, so it's only natural that it sold more and has a bigger playerbase. I'd love to see a longer timer before anyone can loot. Let me click it off if I don't want the item.
Leaving the name of who it was for after the timer runs out would be nice also. Playing in a group of four frequently we are so busy killing nobody knows who the item dropped for. Fortunately a friendly grip so we don't have ninja issues. Either that or give each player a color to make personalized drops jump out. |
