Regarding how many people like FFA vrs. ninja=kick.
I play hardcore league, and every public map group I have seen has been ninja=kick group.
Every. Single. One.
Not a single FFA map group have I ever seen in the public group menu.
Not. A. Single. One.
Sure that's not any good data but it's better than no data which for example this thread can't really give us.
right and how many times have you had your loot stolen in a no ffa group regardles of its title?
let me tell you that when i make groups i make them no ffa but i still loot items just so i can drink down those sweet tears
Exactly twice.
Not a single tear was shed.
But thank you for actually showing us what's wrong with FFA system. Players have no tools to enforce their own rules within a group which is absolutely laughable in a so called 'cut throat' environment. PoE does none of that.

There have been multiple polls that have been down that show the majority of posters want a change to the system. Another poster totaled up the first ~200 responses in this thread and found a clear bias towards posters looking for change.
"majority of posters"
yes of course if people don't like something they will cry about it so you are mostly going to see negative feedback about ffa on the forums
people who have no problem don't have much reason to post so you will see fewer of them.

we all thank you that you post this in this thread, when a dev see that a game mechanic is used to grief players they immediately change it....griefing is bad for business
we thank you (really)
Thats not what was posted. And you say i post non sense.
Well, WTF is that? lol
If anything thats just the poster child of fully removing loot timers. Once timers are gone no one can ever, eeeeeever bitch about NINJAS again.
Then what?
You will always have shoulda, coulda, woulda to complain about.

It would be somewhat cut-throat though I suppose, but you're not giving the players the means to attack each other for the loot. If you're going to go for cut-throat, then do it right.

Poor game design: I can actually make a valid argument though that it is poor game design. If people wish the game to have fun, then you should include fun in a variety of different methods. To enforce a vision on players is I would argue "poor game design". Vision is what makes a game, which is great, but so is the feedback that it receives. If you ignore the feedback many of your customers give, then they will go away. That is the basics of supply/demand. GGG can choose to stick to their vision of course. Also, I'm not saying the game should "appeal to everyone."
Mistakes is my opinion: No. I can sort of prove that too. If there a large number of people disgusted with the way things are, then you certainly have a mistake in the looting system. If there's at least one thing I can guarantee is wrong with the looting system (by game design), it would be that names shouldn't be shown to players because people think loot is theirs. The game is effectively telling the player "THAT LOOT IS YOURS", even though that is NOT what was intended by the game developers.
Neither of those arguments are proof or fact, they are your opinion.

These are all examples of opinion, the last disguised as fact. Pure and simple every game, movie, book, song, etc has a vision and an audience. If something isn't to your taste then you don't purchase it. Any company that tries to constantly change and edit everything people are unhappy about is going to be running in circles endlessly. PoE has the loot system that GGG wanted (plus a timer due to trying to make everyone happy). it is their vision. you can give feedback but the last change they made in the loot system didn't stop the complaints. Companies giving in to online game complaints ends up dumbing everything into WoW and no one really ends up happy with it. Don't make the game adapt to you, adapt to the game.

You would have to be a real fool to believe that removing the timers would make everything okay considering the fact that the timers were added because everything wasn't okay.
