Instanced loot doesn't offer anyone an advantage over FFA loot, there isn't extra loot added to the equation. It just divides the loot equally.

So you're saying instanced loot divides equally?

Does that mean if ONE unique drops everyone gets the same drop? One of each?

No. That is the exact opposite of what he said.

what part of instanced loot you do not get? if a unique drop for MY instance it dropped to MY instance...it is INSTANCED after all....

IL != loot pinatas
FFA = Loot pinatas for the vultures to take them all

I know what instanced loot is, i've played D3. I just think its funny that people consider that fair drops.

Its pretty boring actually. Its like playing alone. AKA. the loot bubble that even GGG describes.

Let us quickly investigate the situation with FFA again.

The players who have issues, are those who are less fast then others and feel they are not getting their share of the loot, and it is also those whose builds are not strong enough to stand in the fight - etc etc.

This is not my issue with FFA-only. Loot is a symptom.

The problem that I have with FFA is that players will choose to pick loot instead of fighting, even while monsters threaten the party.

I can get loot on my own. But only through grouping can I get a cooperative experience. I've no desire AT ALL for a competitive experience. Not in the races, nor pvp.

I want a team that works together to defeat the mobs and complete the quests. Loot is merely the payoff, or pay while doing this.

I would be more interested in a session where at the end of each zone, each player got 3-5 random items. At least, I would prefer that over a grouping experience that never has competition turned off. Why are cooperating teams such a bad option to offer?
In a very grind heavy game the death penalty equates to...more grinding.
lol voodu thats all you have to respond with?

you have zero valid arguements except for pretending to be elite, which you arent. you just have a class that is affording you extra loot.

let me put it really really simple for you

FFA
HAS
NOTHING
TO
DO
WITH
BUILD
-
DPS
-
EFFORT
IN
THE
FIGHT
IT
IS
JUST
A
CLICKFEST
MINI
GAME

and

Clickfest Minigame

A game that is build around who can click faster to a limited amount of time (enforced or free)

ok now bro?
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself
*cough* So. If loot is divided by the number of players in your party, then instanced loot option is okay with everyone I'm assuming?

voodoo do you have any relation with Jay wilson...when you speak like that is like i hear him talking

" players do not know what fun is, my new super duper game will TEACH them what fun is "

man this was the worst part of d3...the arrogance...

I and EVERYONE for HIMSELF knows WHAT FUN is...the job of the developer is to give a nice product so more players can FIND FUN....a game is not school, i do not expect to learn anything from a game...i expect to chill out and play for X time / day
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

The whole point of considering a fully instanced implementation is based on the simple fact that loot would be instanced.

In the current system, you seem to have the item rarity and quantity mods of all player combined and get somewhat more loot.
Yet, when i play in a public group and have some 65% IIR, most of the dropped rares drop for me with the allocated timer. If i change the gear, i dont get rares or even uniques dropped allocated to me and far less dropped for the group at all.
So IIR and IIQ is still heavily based on your personal stats, in the current FFA implementation. Based on observation.

With instanced loot,
-IIR and IIQ bonuses still mostly apply to yourself
-perhaps its better no have group bonuses whatsoever, apart from perhaps more monsters -> more drop
-the loot could be divided by the same mechanics used for the allocation timers (with white/blue items considered or not)

So as the above posters said, FFA bears more risk but also the chance for more reward.

As to the question, if an item is dropped and it gets allocated to you and through your IIR mods your are happy to see a unique, then its yours.

At least in my last party games i've rarely seen a rare or unique dropping unallocated?
So that would be no real problem.

The problem is that ppl always have the D3 implementation in mind, which failed for several reasons. This doesnt necessarily mean that no working instaced loot implementation might exist to please the demand and yet stays within the developers principles.

the ONLY thing wilson did right

http://diablo3blog.blogspot.gr/2008/07/new-drop-system-in-diablo-3.html

Jay Wilson The Most Hated Game Developer

We don’t want players to be alone, we’d rather they be in a group. You might be at a slight disadvantage playing solo, but not enough that you won’t want to play. We adjust automatically whenever players join or leave. You likely won’t see any loot changes from boss kills, and it’s not necessary, since when he dies everyone will get their own loot, which is the biggest change from Diablo 2.

instanced loot means i get MY items based on MY IIR/IIQ (you can discard ANY ANY bonuses to loot) while i CO-OP

IL doesnt' mean
a) more loot
b) better loot

as we have already say...FFA has loot pinatas IL doesnt' have them...and i have NEVER saw a loot pinata (cause i solo) and i do not CARE
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself
