PoE is a game of decision making, so having to decide between safe loot vs more loot would fit it quite well.

Pro-FFA people claim they play FFA because it's more fun and thrilling and cutthroat and hardcore.

Hence, they have no reason to flock to instanced loot.

It's provably that substantial amount of people play harder options just because they're more fun: there is a healthy hardcore population base, it is harder than default.

So why again would the people that enjoy FFA flock to instanced if they enjoy it?

I would personally ditch FFA if I was guaranteed loot under the instanced loot system. Especially if the loot was given equally. (ie. 30 loot FFA, instanced is also 30 loot.)

Even if I preferred FFA... (which I don't).

Instanced loot doesn't offer anyone an advantage over FFA loot, there isn't extra loot added to the equation. It just divides the loot equally. The reason to play either style would be based on preference.. FFA loot gives you the chance to get less then your share or more then your share.. instanced loot just gives you exactly your share.

Huh.

So you're saying:

If FFA drops the group 30 pieces of loot for killing a boss. Instanced looting would ALSO drop 30 pieces of loot and that offers no advantage?

Or are you guys suggesting instanced looting is simply the amount of loot that is dropped is divided by the number of people in the group?

no one is asking for an entire party worth of FFA loot to drop and be assigned to each person. its the exact same amount of loot dropping except something that drops with your name on it, is your loot.

So you're saying instanced loot divides equally?

Does that mean if ONE unique drops everyone gets the same drop? One of each?

so much "hardcore" ffa players...will take the easiest way possible if given the choice....man i lol so much when i see this comments...

so you like FFA cause you can lootwhore easily on OTHERS drops right?

if i recall right you are the "hardcore" players that do not like "carebear" features..but still if a "carebear" feature comes as an option you will gladly stick to it.....

what else to add to this? what else?
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

no, that isn't what I want at all.

all I want is an option for secure loot.. meaning I don't have to stop fighting just to run over and watch a melee steal my loot as I get there and the timer runs out.

it should be the same quantity of drops, and the same formula to assign who's "name is on it" just that their isnt a FFA to it, either those drops only show to you or they show to all but don't have a timer, or they have a long timer.. like 60 seconds.

voodoo are you trying to confuse yourself with...lowballs?

what part of instanced loot you do not get? if a unique drop for MY instance it dropped to MY instance...it is INSTANCED after all....

IL != loot pinatas
FFA = Loot pinatas for the vultures to take them all

The way I understood instanced looting is to be somewhat similar to Torchlight's system. However many pieces of loot I get is the same number given to every party member.

The quality is random, but the quantity is the same. However, I was thinking you guys were saying it would give the same number of loot for a party of 6, to all members that were part of the party of 6.

So, you're saying then...

30 pieces of loot drops. 6 people = 5 ea?

torchlight 2 made the horribly bad decision to add higher difficulty options but not increase the reward.. to me that changes the way the games played because you can't expect a player to challenge himself.. they need the game to force it.. even hardcore players. I was once in the top 5 on the US east diablo 2 ladder first year of release.. I consider myself hardcore.

but the FFA system is broke, and honestly 99.9% of the people argueing for it to be the only option are the ones who's class is offering them extra loot because of it.. of course they are going to argue on here for it to be the only option if they are use to getting 10x the loot they would get if they weren't stealing ranged or non survival build players loot all game. It basically has turned this game into 2 options for me.. either solo for drops or party of experience.. where some classes are able to party for exp and get even more drops.. that sounds pretty fair? no. its called unbalance and it leads to everyone playing the same damn class.

as far as clicking skills.. POE loot is hardly clicking skills.. I guarantee their isnt a single person in here talking crap about their clicking skills that could beat me in a fast paced game like quakelive. if someone wants to take that challenge I'll gladly play you.

yes. its taking away the risk/reward.. because frankly it isnt balanced. the risk/reward option should still be there for those who want it.. and plenty of people will still use it.
