And who says that both options are entirely fair? Maybe instance and FFA are still not fair to everyone. Maybe we need a 3rd and 4th and 5th optional loot mechanic...

Nobody.
But be sure that at least 2 options are better than only one as is the case with the current ffa implementation.
In the end you can't make absolute all your players happy but as long as the largest part of your playerbase is satisfied then it means you did good.
Anyway, first step is to come with at least another option.

And who says that the most players aren't satisfied already?

I mean, there are 70.000 active players (maybe more) and I only see a handful posting here about this topic over and over again... Maybe most people find it alredy "fair".

Don't get me wrong, I would like to see instance loot, but it's not a must for me. I will play the game with FFA or instanced loot. Just saying that people here always cry for "NOT FAIR!!!" and yet it seems like no one is realizing that there will never be something that is "fair". Like I said, even the optional stuff can be unfair. Why? Well, if you are a FFA player and there are only instanced parties around, then it is unfair to him, because he never wished for an instanced loot option but now he is suffering from this system because maybe many people play with instanced only.

You can make sense all day long, but they only care about one thing. And thats getting what they want, when they want when they see it.

Its either NINJAS stole their drops, ranged can't get drops, timers are too short and they don't like taking a split second to pick up loot in battles.

I do NOT want more than my 1/6th, nor do I want less.

I don't enjoy taking others' loot, it makes me feel like a selfish dick. I feel the same when others do it to me.

I DO want everyone on the same friggin team to work TOGETHER to kill the mobs first, and divvy up the loot afterwards.

I DO want a one-for-all and all-for-one group, not a gotta-get-mine before you get yours.

And FFS I want people killing FIRST, and then looting. If the loot were allocated or on a very long timer, there would be no need to loot before killing.

.

lulz. Voodu. Whats this whine you speak of? I do not see it. ^

Sarcasm intended.

The fact that ranged players can't pick up loot if it isn't assigned is perfectly valid. The short timers need to stay at the least.

The fact that people feel like they are entitled to loot is wrong. If you don't pick it up, then it isn't yours.

Having played the game a lot more, I think that the following needs to be done:

-Increase assigned loot timers by a mere extra 2 seconds.

-Remove names from assigned loot. It gets assigned as it currently does but with no ones name on it.

-Drop assigned orbs next to the assigned player instead of wherever the monster died.

Now you have no excuses if you get ninjad.
(b) Personal abuse, foul language, inappropriate subject matter, obscene, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory or defamatory remarks of any nature ... are not permitted.

I hate timers. It's not rare that someone with a timer has more then enough time to grab his item and you never had the chance to get it. That's why I ask for LOCK timers. Means that the item is locked for EVERYONE (so no one can take it) and after 5 seconds everyone can get it. This way, everyone had the same chance to get it.

This is a terrible idea because now all 6 people in the group will clock and hold their mouse button on any loot that drops instead of killing monsters, and only the most survivable builds will get the loot while other people die.

All these ideas including my earlier ones were bad. The best solution IMO is unique invisible loot rolls for everyone in the group, and no more quantity increase for groups.

Hypocrisy at its best.

And the harrasment and bullying starts all over again!

Edit: taking Vooodu's advice. Playing the game still with FFA-loot. No need for me to get banned because some carebears cry on the moderators lap when their feelings are getting hurt.

IN fact guys you are the ones that insult and bully players...i remember you that everyone that dislikes FFA is

a) slow fingered
b) slow minded
c) lives in 3rd world country withh 300ms
d) they hate PoE
e) have no friends
f) have crappy computers
etc etc

from the 2 sides the FFA side is ALWAYS trying to make your facts valid blaming the players
so stop the hypocrisy and seriously CRAWL back to your softcore hole
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

I like how simply pointing out obivious excuses for complaining about loot drops makes that player the bully. As if that is an insult. Its funny how you choose to leave out the problem of people confusing what loot timers actual intentions are. Or people having issues about when and how other players choose to grab the drop. Thats where the true insanity starts.

Its also funny that you claim that everyone who suppots FFA loot insults everyone. Then you tell them to "CRAWL back into your softcore hole".

I posted one single post in thread and got insulted by three different people. I never singled out anyone, but they sure singled out me. Maybe i should start reporting everyone?

It seems that the majority of these posts are just flame bait. After going back and reading Voodus posts before he was banned i find it very funny that he got the punishment and not most of the regular posters. Even after voodu posts again hes accused of trolling and taunted. Yet, he does neither.

Bad thread is bad. Yet, strangely entertaining.

I don't understand the devs of this game, they say "we want fast paced battles" and they add a loot system that makes you forget the battle when a good loot drops and mass-click on the item.He says "The time would be increased by the time it takes for the character to run to the item." I am in the middle of the battle and you want me to run to the item? What kind of logic is that? I am in a battle with like 50 monkeys i am hardly alive with life gain on hit, an item drops and a ninja takes it because i can't stop attacking, because i would die if do.

I think system should be like this:
-Items should still drop with a name on it.
-There should be no timer.

That means if an item drops in the middle of the battle, i can be like "Oh a rare item with my name on it, good thing nobody can take it because if i stop attacking i will die, better finish off this mobs and take my loot."
That would be better than "A rare item, better get it before a ninja does *click-click-click* fuuuuu i died *rage quit*"

It's not just with the life gain on hit builds it would be like this with a low-health character.

My english is bad, hope you understood what i meant.
