Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.
" Why would you force me to play Instanced? Oh you wouldn't force me, I would have the option of playing a harder loot option, why thank you! That would be stupid. In FFA I have to fight monsters AND other players for loot [/quote] Where you can also grab more loot that anyone else in the party and the best loot at that. Thats the obvious advantage to enjoying FFA. " And they get a random cut of the loot and cannot take more from their teammates. Thats the big difference not to mention the people who like the FFA playstyle better. If thats not enough for you to play FFA then apparently you never really enjoyed it in the first place? a timer means you can take some time to pick stuff up, and sometimes you need also some time to get to your loot, plus with 6 players on board your chances are sometimes 6:1 to pick up your own loot while you're still in a fight.
I've got nfs installed if i wan't to play a racing game. And heck no it's not funny nor challenging if someone else is grabbing your unique item or some other rare stuff. - Best Signature Ever -

" It is harder, more selfish, and it is annoying in its current state. The reason I like FFA is because everyone has to deal with it, people don't get to choose if they want to play a tralala mode, they HAVE to fight for their loot in a party. Don't want to, you play solo as an exile. If everyone wasn't forced to do it, I wouldn't like it. It is a game mechanic that is even across the board on terms of annoyance and whatever else you want to throw at it. If there was a mode where players don't have to deal with it, then it is pointless to me. Technically instanced is YOUR problem, you want it so you are in here preaching about it. It is not MY problem if something easier is implemented to make it asinine to play FFA. At this point, if it wasn't the same 20 or so people posting in this thread I would say just get rid of FFA completely, balance party play with solo play. There you go. I'm surprised that nobody has brought up the fact that each party member only adds +50% loot to the drops.
Therefore, playing in groups generally means less loot for each individual person. Ultimately, people will play in groups because they want to play in groups. They will choose FFA or Instanced looting based on what they want to do, not on what is easier. |

" Please don't give FFA supporters any new ideas. :) I'm sure they would like, that they can ruin single player to people, that are forced not to play in groups. |

" That is not true. Consider other facts too. Monsters have only 50% more HP per additional player. -> same loot Also you can share auras, charges, and defense(more targets to absorb dmg). -> more loot for party EDIT: To be fair. There is some time lost in party managing. Last edited by Dishonor#0049 on Feb 7, 2013, 10:51:55 AM

Also, on the looting subject. Remove magic find it makes the game harder. I have to stack it to compete with others who stack it. Make every boss drop a rare, rare bosses are hard. That rare needs to have +Spell Damage or +Physical Damage if it is a weapon.
Just a playstyle preference, I want to work less for my stuff. I mean I still will work for it, just not as hard. Of course you can be given the OPTION to take it or not, it won't affect YOU, it will be YOUR problem if you don't take it. It would be your CHOICE. Also, I want assigned seats in forest encampment, so many people running around I can't click Gruest sometimes. In light of that, I think that may be why he is always so pissed off, people just running through his house not wiping their shoes. For every illogical post I will post a similar suggestion. Then we can call each other dumb for our suggestions. |

"You also make more targets for AoE attacks like suicide minions, multiple projectiles enemies, curses, and basically anything that casts spells like spark, ice spear, cold snap... |

" Yeah in terms of difficulty Solo >>>>> Multiplayer. This game is sold as hardcore and cutthroat but Multiplayer is a cake walk compared to solo. IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client
