"Sounds like I'll team up for bosses and solo everywhere else. If you want the loot timer in any form, the length of the timer should be able to be determined by the party leader when he makes the party, and should be visible to anyone trying to join groups. Of course, there would be the option in this case for Loot Timer = 0 = FFA looting. Last edited by XCodes#2874 on Feb 5, 2013, 5:24:11 PM

I liked it the way the loot rules work now tbh, even as a ranged class but if they need to be changed i wouldn't mind it this way
I will say i like the timer idea and i like the ffa loot any variation of the system i would be happy with. non-shared loot kinda sucks imo for the reasons stated. I might as well play by myself cause it will feel like i am anyway. I understand some people like non shared loot in games like torchlight and D3 but those games are a much lighter (casual) style of Arpg. Im not 100% sure simply making the timer longer is a good fix either, the change stated by the OP (Making the timer proximity based) is a good idea something that maybe should be tested internally and im sure will be. " Before commenting on Torchlight, maybe you should play it. Torchlight 2 is really not a casual game at all, there's a lot in the way of number crunching and optimization to be done with it, and there's no re-speccing AT ALL beyond the last 3 skill points you've assigned. It's also not an easy game, with high-level NG+ monsters often being capable of one-shotting your character. The huge difference between Torchlight 2 and this game, however, is that Torchlight 2 is all about playing the game the way you want to play it, where there have been some very hard-line decisions made by GGG that restrict player choice on that matter. While I can respect some of those decisions, I can't at all agree with some of them (such as this looting system). |

Please don't dumb down the loot PVP for the sake of these people saying the game should be relaxing!
Farmville is relaxing, not PoE. Personal bubble loot is horrible and creates an environment where each player ends up feeling they are in their own instance of the map. |

"Oh, yeah, gotta have that who-can-click-the-hot-spot-faster PvP in an ostensibly cooperative environment! It's not PvP unless I get to kill you for being a dumbass. |

" You must be wrong since I am very relaxed playing PoE. Why do people act like this game is pvp only? Standard Forever

" Please explain that. Why would you need to play hall monitor in a non competitive system? Standard Forever

At least for me, when I run towards my loot (clicking it, half the time it doesnt loot and I have to click again as quick as i can or it gets ninjaed. Not only this, literally 10 minutes ago I had a unique drop at my feet that was mine, I spam clicked it and somehow still didnt get it. Quite infuriating.. probably done for the day.
Cut-throat FFA and all that? Sure, thats cool if thats what you like, but why not just keep that in the planned league of the same type. Or allow some more non-ninja friendly options. |

Why not make it so every one gets there own loot. Like in that "other game" that was about the only good thing they did in that "other game" were everyone got his or her own loot.
