Why the timer should be increased a little bit

I feel that the loot timer is not fair to all players because of the following reasons:

- If you play on higher resoluton like 2560 you are at a disadvantage as things are smaller and more difficult to click. You loose 0.3 to 0.5 seconds here easily.

- If you use higher resolutions or play in a party sometimes it's just hard to see the mouse cursor, and there you loose another 0.3 to 0.5 sec trying to target.

- Because of the absurd amount of items that drop in a party you are pretty much forced to use the item pickup key in order not to pick up all useless items, and that also adds another delay as you have to press a key before clicking.

- Not everyone is 20 year old and full of spring. Some people may have a little bit of strain in the arms/hands or just less motor skills.

TLDR: THE TIMER IS TOO SHORT.

Old people getting no loot is sooooooooo cutthroat through brah.
I still think increasing the item pickup range would solve a lot of these complaints while still keeping the game cutthroat.

And not much either, maybe extend the range to 1 or 2 meters relative to the character so you don't have to stand directly on top of the item to pick it up.
Ok, forget whatever gentleman's agreements about loot.

Looting is not cut-throat unless I can actually cut your throat and take your stuff if you pick up an item I want. FFA looting in PvE is for panzy-asses that like to pretend they're hardcore, but are really just greedy douchebags that compensate for all their cumulative shortcomings with an inflated ego.

This!

Bitch about Diablo 3 all you want but Torchlight and Guild Wars did the same thing. And it worked out pretty well for them.

No one is saying remove FFA completely. Have a league where it is allowed so that the people who love/are ninja looters and think they are badass just because they can click faster, can enjoy the game the way they like it. Though I guarantee you not a single one of the detractors of instanced loot in this thread, will be playing in it. Everyone likes to talk big and walk small.

I am surprised there is still plenty of debate on this and GGG have not implemented individual looting as an *option*. Having both where one can select before creating a party will end this debate/argument.

Please make this happen and end this discussion! XD
Hi there!
Great game but one thing i don´t like at all:
The short time to pickup rare/legendaries or rare orbs. I get ninjad to oten! Often it takes my character a second to even try to get the item.
SO 20 minutes ago i found a legendary Gold amulet and someone stole it... Frustrating, and not the first time i had such a problem. so will i only play solo or with firends? there should be a satisfying solution to the casual grinder....like 5 sedonds to pick up thegood stuff...sometimes stuff drops off da screen and i got 2 seconds to ind it and pick up my blessed orb?!? -.- not enuff with 10 FPS during 6 man battle
There should be at least a 10 second timer due to people's latency. I do not get why we cannot have separate loot. It frustrates me that I cannot move forward in the game because all of my loot gets stolen. I would sitting right in front of my item and i have to click at least 3 times to pick it up then the next thing you know it gets stolen. I have 8 upload and 50 down so I do not get why this is happening. At least extend the timer because I am not the only one complaining about this issue. This is the biggest issue in this game and I do not know how much longer I can take before I quit.

I understand some people like non shared loot in games like torchlight and D3 but those games are a much lighter (casual) style of Arpg.

Before commenting on Torchlight, maybe you should play it. Torchlight 2 is really not a casual game at all, there's a lot in the way of number crunching and optimization to be done with it, and there's no re-speccing AT ALL beyond the last 3 skill points you've assigned. It's also not an easy game, with high-level NG+ monsters often being capable of one-shotting your character.

The huge difference between Torchlight 2 and this game, however, is that Torchlight 2 is all about playing the game the way you want to play it, where there have been some very hard-line decisions made by GGG that restrict player choice on that matter. While I can respect some of those decisions, I can't at all agree with some of them (such as this looting system).

I'm personally sick of hearing how much more hardcore this game is compared to the others simply because of a damn loot timer, when this game has its own casual elements.

For one, the Hardcore system. You don't even lose your damn character. Do I really care that much? No, but everytime I read some stupid post about how hardcore this game is, and how casual the others are, I wonder exactly what game they are playing that a character in any other game in Hardcore mode, is lost forever.

I get why they did it. Participation. But it is still super casual. Hell, the mobs aren't even as difficult as the other game's mobs. The mob affixes and such are pretty chill; most of the cheese ones were nerfed to nothing, like reflect, honestly mainly because people hated it in the other game/s, and well they decided to One-up the other games, I guess.

Anyways, I'm tired of hearing how hardcore this game is compared to the others. The other games have elements that are far more hardcore then this game, and vice versa. Stop labeling people as casuals when you dont even play the Carebear Hardcore mode this game has. You have zero right to call other gamers/games casual just because you ninja-loot softcore games all day.

Grow up big boys and play HC and delete your characters if you are so tough.
An option to have either loot system on party creation (not changeable unless party disbands first to avoid abuse) would be perfect I think. I would only ever play with it on. I want to join a party to cooperate, not compete. If I wanted that I'd play the cuttrhoat league.
A loot distribution system setup does not make you more hardcore.
