If you give an option, everyone and their dead granny would choose instanced loot. Even the ones currently supporting the FFA.

I most certainly would not.

They are discussing this out of pity/guilt. Not because they want to. They set it how they want and now they are discussing it after the fact.

Another (lead) developer in disguise ;)
Man, do these people know the game and its future development better than the devs themselves!
Nor I.

I was most certain you would say that. And I still am 100% sure that you would.

There is not a single good thing (NOT A SINGLE ONE) with the CURRENT (dont skip that word, it means everything for my point) FFA system. It's just one way unavoidable griefing all over the place

EXCEPT when playing with friends.

I can use capitals too, it's fun :)

Well. You're wrong.

FFA keeps the pace up. The amount of blue wands I ID is staggering. As well coral rings and leather belts.

Not only that, I like the loot pinatas. I couldn't imagine killing a boss and seeing 3 items drop, which is what would happen in an instanced scenario.

Further, when trying to find crafting gear from whites of a high ilvl, even whites.with bad sockets/links are valuable. I'm getting ready to search for ilvl 72 ES gear. It would be a LOT harder to do so in an instanced setting.
FFA, without a timer, makes a great deal of sense in a party of friends. FFA, with a timer, makes a great deal of sense for party races. Instanced loot makes a great deal of sense in a public party of strangers - assuming you don't want griefer heaven.

[EDIT ADD]
Now if we had a true cut throat league, FFA with timer would make just as much sense there as in party races, given the ability to kill and loot other party members that is.

i experienced like 10 nice ppl and no grabber when i was playing in parties.

i am truly satisfied with the system as is. you find so much good loot on a regular basis that i dont even care if anyone grabs an exalted orb off of me. of course i would not keep that player in my party but i wouldnt miss a thing.

this was during closed beta, i hope this wont change completely with open

This still doesn't account for my previous statement.

Lots of those items people wouldn't pick up anyways. And still, seeing several items drop, instead of 18 is just.... Ugh

Playing with friends throw the whole FFA mechanism to the trash can
