I have a question in regards to looting.

When an item drops for player A, and player A does not see the item and player B and player C are standing at the item, holding their left mouse button down on the item waiting for the timer to expire, how is the loot allocated then? To me it seems that there are two possible scenarios:

1. Randomly (as it should be)
2. Based on ping (which I have a suspicion it might be)
Holding the mouse button down does nothing, you have to click the loot to pick it up. So whoever clicked first after the timer ran out would get it.

It works, try it.
In that case whoever has the least laggy connection to the server ;)

To the people crying about the looting. You're all morons, it's that simple.

Grouping in PUBLIC PARTIES is optional, you know what the looting system is and if you don't like it, then don't fucking group with random people. it's a very simple concept. One that I'm sure most of you are too slow to comprehend.

I fail to see why anyone would join random parties at all, they are usually filled with below average players or are there just to farm certain zones. if you really want to group and actually care about it then why don't you attempt to use the few brain cells that you have to find a good group of people to play with so that the looting is not an issue? Oh yes, you're incapable of using basic logic so you never think of that.

Looting is a non-issue.

If I create a public party, I want to make the rules about MY party if possible, so big -1 to your suggestion.
You are right, FFA isn't directly related to hardcoreness/softcorness, BUT if ppl (usualy the ones that complain on forum about it so much) play in a public party with total strangers and they are not the ones who created the party they are in, then the game usualy gets harder with FFA, since it is not 100% youll get all the good drops or the ones you realy need, as you would if playing alone.
How to solve the problem of those who don't like FFA? Make some friends first and then make a party with them only.
Not to mention instanced loot system is like holding player for his hand while he just clicks casualy without any excitement for it.
Best posts. (I'd quote a 3rd but the forum doesn't allow it unfortunately)

Choice, happiness and spaghetti sauce http://www.ted.com/talks/malcolm_gladwell_on_spaghetti_sauce.html.

Giving choice is a good business decision. And GGG did give a choice regarding upcoming Floating Combat Text to cater for a larger player base. For GGG to make more profit which will eventually benefits players is IMHO, give more choice to players.

Actually, I'm pretty sure a lot of players who are against FFA loot will have no issue paying a reasonable amount of $$$ to join a league without FFA loot or even a league where players can choose loot rules.

If you watch the TED talk video by Malcolm Gladwell, you'll understand why there is hardly a one-size-fits-all and why big businesses no longer provide only one flavor of anything in their line of products.

People say Jay Wilson ruined D3 because he didn't listen to players and shoved down his own version of "fun" to the D3 community. I'm not sure how true this statement is, but maybe if he listened and provide options, there might be less negative reviews of the game. I don't know...

Anyways, I read here that GGG do create POE for a certain niche of players. If that is their goal, then I understand their stance on FFA. People against FFA still have a choice of not playing with strangers or play solo.

TLDR; option is good. embrace it.
Why should those who love the current system be punished by having to pay to continue loving what is currently the current system?

More choices only works without issue so long as it doesn't segregate the community involved. Segregating the community of a game with major options like what is being discussed here will essentially be the same as creating & Maintaining2 different games.

Whatever points that he made were completely killed the minute he resorted to using a second grade insult because he, oh no, "disagrees with someone on the internet". Sort of like how whatever you have to say is now overshadowed by your immaturity.

Call us some more names it makes you soooo right.....

Also, your reply speaks highly of your "qualities" as a human being.
Combat the arguments, not attack the person should be (your) common courtesy.

The community is already segregated: Those that play in pubs and those that don't. By giving party leaders the option to adjust loot timers from "current" to "infinite", through "double" and "triple", you are not segregating anyone. And you're not making anyone pay anything. The only thing you do is allow the people that do not currently play in pubs to start doing so. Nothing more.

Wasted words though. You have no intention of actually debating anything. You simply want to defend your egoistical need to force other people to play the same way you play, even though it has absolutely zero impact on you. It's incredibly pathetic. And very, very transparent.
