I for one have posted a decent amount on reddit and a little bit here on the various reasons simply adding a private loot option, keeps the FFA for those that want it, and makes the game more enjoyable in public games for those that don't.
All I feel to put here is this: here and in many other places you have very strong, and from the comments that are getting upvoted on reddit, majority of players trying to voice their opinion for a different or better option than FFA loot. Sure a lot of those players are like me, people who picked it up only in open beta and haven't supported yet. However even in the people who have supported, this isn't something that is universally supported. Threads go way back into the closed beta with people voicing opinions on either improving or changing the system so it effectively isn't really FFA anymore. Point is, this is still in beta, players who feel that their opinion doesn't matter, aren't likely to turn around and start supporting. More support means more game, this is Path of Exile, not Path of We have a different loot system than everyone one else in the genre for the past decade. Only a fool never changes his mind, and there's a lot of good reasons to not ignore a large portion of your player base. |

I'm not going to read through 400 pages, so my apologies if this idea has already been proposed. It's pretty obvious to me that people are divided into two camps, those who want loot options and those who think the current modified FFA system is fine. So why not create a separate league for each group? One league with loot options and another league with the current system. The main drawbacks I see is it would split the player base even more and one league might wind up with a higher population than the other.

Best would be to let player choose themselves (not team leader for whole team). Player would choose, if he want his loot to be instanced or FFA. If he choose instanced, he would have access only to his loot (He wouldn't see FFA loot). If he choose FFA, his loot would be part of FFA loot pool. All players that choose FFA can loot from FFA loot.
And one more thing, FFA isn't related to hardcore or softcore (Some people thinks, that they are more hardcore with FFA :) ). Please don't mix apples and oranges. |

" Exactly, all the items belong to the team. And from this point your judgement gets clouded: Now, because all the team members have put a real effort in defeating the enemy and thus winning (that is the purpose of the team! fact), they ALL have a fair share from that loot. There is no team in the world that rewards only 1 member and the rest of the team members gets jack shit. No, all the working team members are rewarded from the winnings of the team. Fact! To make an analogy, a 11 members team wins the world cup at soccer. There are 11 gold medals. They dont all go to 1-2-3 members just because they can run fast enough to pick them up, they belong 1 medal for each member, because they have all worked together to reach the final goal. Fact! So the loot is not free for all inside the team, one member cannot deprive the other team members of their rightfully share of the loot. They all worked hard to win, they all have a right at reaping the benefits! This is the healthy, natural only solution to the problem. You cannot come and pretend that just because you can madclick then you are entitled to all the benefits. No. That is why the catchphrase "its not yours 'till you pick it up" its the lowest of the low lame. Because it completely disregards the team effort. That motto only belongs to cut-throat league, where everyone is playing only for themselves, killing anyone. " I specifically said i dont want to keep white/black lists, i dont want to police gamers. Imho that is the system's job, not mine. " You know what, interaction is possible on a full instance system. Hey dude, i'm looking for whatever, can you keep an eye on it and i'll do the same for you? Or, hey dude can you link me all the decently items that i might like before you vendor them? etc etc. Instance-loot doesnt mean interaction is non-existent. This is just a common mistake and a falsely argument from the ffacamp. |

Please stop referring to pub parties as teams.
Theyre not. |

" pub teams will work for ya? is this a problem with the definitions used? cause i have yet to see the definition of "hardcore" playstyle When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

To the people crying about the looting. You're all morons, it's that simple.
Grouping in PUBLIC PARTIES is optional, you know what the looting system is and if you don't like it, then don't fucking group with random people. it's a very simple concept. One that I'm sure most of you are too slow to comprehend. I fail to see why anyone would join random parties at all, they are usually filled with below average players or are there just to farm certain zones. if you really want to group and actually care about it then why don't you attempt to use the few brain cells that you have to find a good group of people to play with so that the looting is not an issue? Oh yes, you're incapable of using basic logic so you never think of that. Looting is a non-issue. |

" dude, people team to win something in the end. be it itemz, be it xp, whatever no matter is private or public, its the same. That is why ffa logic is flawed. Heck, even the dev vision in regards to the ffa loot used is flawed. A team is a team NO MATTER how you look at it. It's gommon goal, purpose is to win. That team is made by people, who all work together to reach the goal/purpose. They reach it, so the team have benefits. And all members have a right from that benefits. A right, not an option. This is bullet proof argument. Last edited by mobutu#5362 on Feb 1, 2013, 3:35:20 AM
