All players that choose FFA can loot from FFA loot.
And one more thing, FFA isn't related to hardcore or softcore (Some people thinks, that they are more hardcore with FFA :) ). Please don't mix apples and oranges.
If I create a public party, I want to make the rules about MY party if possible, so big -1 to your suggestion.
You are right, FFA isn't directly related to hardcoreness/softcorness, BUT if ppl (usualy the ones that complain on forum about it so much) play in a public party with total strangers and they are not the ones who created the party they are in, then the game usualy gets harder with FFA, since it is not 100% youll get all the good drops or the ones you realy need, as you would if playing alone.
How to solve the problem of those who don't like FFA? Make some friends first and then make a party with them only.
Not to mention instanced loot system is like holding player for his hand while he just clicks casualy without any excitement for it.
P.S.: Going in public parties is an OPTION, not something you are forced to do and I'm pretty sure that if you would play with friends there would not be loot "stealing".

Grouping in PUBLIC PARTIES is optional, you know what the looting system is and if you don't like it, then don't fucking group with random people. it's a very simple concept. One that I'm sure most of you are too slow to comprehend.
I fail to see why anyone would join random parties at all, they are usually filled with below average players or are there just to farm certain zones. if you really want to group and actually care about it then why don't you attempt to use the few brain cells that you have to find a good group of people to play with so that the looting is not an issue? Oh yes, you're incapable of using basic logic so you never think of that.
Looting is a non-issue.
Some1 that sees things as they are, +1 to this.

2) What I want from the game is consistancy. If this game wants to be niche then it should go all out, if it wants to appeal to decent crowd then it should be prepared to make some logical concessions for stuff like looting options. I will respect it either way but the game is essentially released. I wish they would have made a final decision before open beta.
This is an interesting point - could you elaborate a bit, please? Chris has called this game the "premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers" - so to me it seems pretty clear that they are, in fact, going for a niche audience. This is also evident in features like having no full respecs, XP loss on death even in the softcore league, the infamous FFA looting, etc. Do you feel there is something reasonable that they could/should do to "go all out" even more - and if so, what?
What have you become when even nightmares fear you?

@killbilly: No1 is forcing you to join random public parties, this isn't CoD where you're practicly forced to do so, you have options here in PoE you know that right?
The game would not be any better with instanced loot.
You can find a group of ppl to play with on forum, you can start a topic in which you are looking for some nice players to play the game with, this is not hard to do, it takes about few seconds to do so.
And I'm preety sure you're more of a kid then the one you called kid.

Good questions. Yes in light of all other ARPG's this one is pretty hardcore. However that doesn't mean that they only want the most niche of audience. They obviously want high nubmers as well. Its a free to play game, they need to make money. If they ONLY want to appeal to the most hardcore of the most hardcore. Then they should make public games cutthroat. You should be able to go hostile and attack other players using the same arguments that FFA people use (why live in a bubble, the storyline etc etc), Forget the loot timers and let it be the hardcore free for all that a lot of the niche people out there love.
Right now the player base is confused by this system. Are the items mine because they had my name or what? Why did GGG even make the concession to appease ranged players and those with internet issues in the first place? They heard the complaints from far less people than now and decided to put in the timer which many FFA players don't like at all. The system still isn't fair so why did they even try?
My original point was that if they want to be ultra niche then come right out and say it and end the debates. Say that they won't make any concessions no matter how many people don't like the competitiveness in public games.

The entire point is that he doesn't have the option to enjoy public games because it only appeals to part of the playerbase.

I would have responded to whatever you were going to say but I stopped reading when you revealed yourself to be devoid of the ability to discuss something maturely. What are you 12?

this depends of the way you see it...cause with IL social play will not be hostile, this means that i can start playing with strangers with the possibility to make PoE friends to hung around..so in my eyes IL can make the game better (or brighter)

If you can make something like WOW, a pop-up window for you to choose NEED, with a 2 sec duration, that will be so much better
