Why not combine solo loot with the ffa one. Those items with no player allocated to it would be FFA while those with allocations would not drop but appear as part of the UI to the player set to it(This would have a loot timer) saying "do you want this item?" and 2 choices appear with it saying "Yes" and "No". If the player does want the item, he would just click on "Yes" and it would instantly appear on the player's inventory. If for some reason the player does not want the loot and clicks "No" or the timer runs out, the item would drop on the location the player as a FFA item.

Having this system would fix things:
-No more waiting for a long time for an item a player does not want(and not get left behind)
-No Ninja looters
-You can finish killing monsters left in the area without worrying someone might steal your
loot
-Players won't stop fighting to get the loot
-No more panicking on which loot is yours
-Less Distracting names on screen(Especially when there are a lot of items around)
-I couldn't think of anything else.

Very nice idea! I think it could solve a lot of the problems on both sides! If the current system is to be replaced, I would totally support this system.

I'd like a little longer of a delay on item drops. I'm a ranger and I have several MF items.. killed a boss and had four yellows drop for me. I only got to one in time. I don't mind trying to weigh out which item would be the most beneficial to loot.. but really?

ah another FACT why FFA sux...
let me break it a bit for those FFA defenders

our little friend here is a ranger
our little friend here has MF gear
our little friend here BOOSTED the mf of the group
our little friend here carried his weight in the group
and our little friend here only managed to get 1 item out of the 4 and not because the other SPARED him this one item...hell i bet their mad mouse clicking skills didnt' grab all of them..

welcome our little friend to this thread you have a story of many more that have already or will never been spoken

Your little friend was tooooooo slooooooow for the pick up... And BTW, thats not HIS loot. Its everyones.

He should have stayed in single player if he thinks hes entitled to every single thing that drops. DErP!

Please, do everyone an favour and give it up. You just keep juicing drama queens sob stories for what its worth.

They really need to remove the loot timer. Im getting tired of kickin people who complain about `ÒMG LOOT NINJAS`!

Voodoo still here providing nothing useful... Let's do not start with the basics again... Get some clues and facts and then talk please... You have yet to provide something that is remotely useful to ffa defense
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself
I just grouped up with a few random groups for the first time, and everybody ninjaed everyones items and gems. It was really annoying and let me to have a bad experience instead of having fun playing. Please make the timers to pick up loot longer.

1. there is no ninja in this game. if the loot timer is over it's ffa.
2. if everybody ""ninjas"" than it's even in loot.

i play in random groups all the time (RANGED) and get 95% of my loot and 20% of others loot just because they are leeching far awar or are brainafk.
if you reward people for leeching the gameflow will suffer.

Some people are rewarded for leeching by not attacking and instead waiting for timers to run out?

I only party with friends because of this dumb system where every public party is full of ninjas. I feel like quitting when rare currency gets stolen, but when it happens its already too late. I think that the timers need to be doubled.

Ok that settles it, remove the timer since people think others are stealing loot that wasn't theirs in the first place, problem solved!
So where is the incentive to play in a group with randoms? By myself I don't get the good items stolen. It's like, why would I want to invite thieves to join me?

Thanks for your support!
Brofist.

Though I can think of a few bad things with this system.

It IS more efficient since mobs only gain +50% more HP per player in a game. Well, efficient for killing that is.

With the loot system it's probably not more efficient for actually getting items...

I don't understand why people want to play with other people, but not play with other people anyway.

The next mobutu and killbilly will ask for, is instanced rare monsters. Then instanced bosses. Then personal only zones. What we are left with, is a chat-system.

You know wolrd evolved from back then

Most ridiculous thing I've read in these forums :p

you and voodoo will come up with more BS or just this?
i remind you fellas that YET in the 352 pages with posts you havent' posted a SINGLE fact why ffa is better..apart from " carebears"

so stop show us how rediculous you guys are and get some facts and clues then talk seriously you only make it worst for the ffa defense already
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself
