CI and Low Life -- totally inconsistent, Please rethink this!!!!

There were more CIs cause it wasn't that hard to get decent ES AND CI itself gave a huge boost to ES, not because of chaos damage. If your buffer is good enough for most cases you can afford to go full offense then regen, and the hide and seek from time to time didn't hurt that much. Current game state doesn't allow that, and it wouldn't even with old ES numbers.

Yeah there was a time when melee CI was actually working, with BR+GR and no need for life leech gems etc.

The whole chaos immunity thing is something I never really got into, especially before the whole -60 thing. It's the whole dump HP go full ES+offense that was tasty, like we discussed many times back then, if you'd remove chaos immunity and leave ES as it was it would still be worth it (unlike what was done with OB overnerf).

But this is just me digressing and wishing for old days nothing else, feel free to ignore me.

This was primarily because the CI node offered so much ES that you could go CI and invest far fewer points into having a high EHP. If the CI node did not have the 50% more ES, it would not have been overpowered at all. Even if it was overpowered, it would not be because of CI, but rather because the ES nodes themselves gave too much ES for too little investment.

When you're discussing which NODES (read specific nodes) are overpowered, it's important to be able to identify the root cause of what is over and underpowered when the result discussed is a combination of many factors.
Wasn't that kinda what I just said? Excluding the 'zomg OP' stuff I won't get into at this time as it's too late and too pointless.

Sure, but your post as written had very little to do with the actual topic. I tied it back to the current topic of how CI and its relative power level compared to the rest of the content of the game is. :P

Fair enough, like I mentioned myself, I got dragged into history way too much.

Current state CI vs low life got drastically changed with shav's tbh. It's not low life itself but the amount of unique 'love' at the moment that makes it superior. From one point, I see it as good thing as it was subpar for a while. From another, it might've kicked it a bit too high on power scale.

But such shifts are to be expected in ever evolving game. Changing the way CI works isn't the proper method to sort it out. The way people seem to still be thinking about CI and the lack of unique support (or overabundance on the other sides) is.

On the other side I'm inherently against BiS uniques (unless they're build defining, but CI itself is build defining).
