CI and Low Life -- totally inconsistent, Please rethink this!!!!

Please help me understand why it makes any sense at all for CI builds to get all the disadvantages of low life (i.e. 1hp) such as being stunned and frozen so easily and none of the advantages such as monsters being unlucky on Lori's Lantern or 100% increased rarity on Wonder Traps. This is very inconsistent and I am asking that the Dev's rethink this and either treat CI builds as being low life or not... it's simply unfair to want to have it both ways. CI has enough other challenges without having additional penalties heaped on top.

Why does everyone forget immunity to chaos res and the 20% multiplicative ES?

Oddly.. I like it. Immunity to Chaos damage is pretty heady stuff, I don't mind that it comes with a pretty severe downside (and I'm not talking about the 1 life, which is immaterial if you don't play like a tank).

If I wasn't on fire / shocked / chilled all the time I'd feel like CI was OP.

Besides, there are mitigations for <insert status ailment of your choice> if you want them.

Not inconsistent at all. You're always at full life. Low life means <35% of your max life.

Besides that, what Moosifer said.

Edit: How about taking all that Full life bonuses?
Sorry Exile, but your loot is in another dungeon!

i think its perfectly balanced. i am lvl72 lowlifer incarnate totem witch in mf gear. The mf and spelldmg boost is a great advantage, but the build's disadvanteges balances the thing totally. I get really good loot, but i cannot do any indoor maps and areas because i cannot see a thing. I have to pay for good loot with that, and that i'm onehit from chaosdmg attacks. But i have a good tactics for it, so i'm happy with it. If there werent penalties for lowlife mf builds, everyone would use this.

I completely disagree none of you has addressed the fact that you are penalized for having low life with stun and freeze.. how is not inconsistent. If your life is always at 100% then you should not be penalized for these, these effects should be balanced against ES in lieu of HP for CI builds.

Although CI puts you at 1 hp, the calculations for stun/freeze/shock/ignite are not based off 1 hp. You can still pump life to counter those if you so desire. From mechanics thread:

"
For a player with Chaos Inoculation, their defender_effective_max_life is whatever their max life would be if they did not have Chaos Inoculation.

For characters using Chaos Inoculation, these durations are calculated based on what the character's maximum life would be if they did not have Chaos Inoculation.

Dear GGG, don't bury the mechanics thread. Sticky it on top of every subforum.
I thought the OP was going to wonder when CI was going to get on-low-energyshield vision dim to be consistent with the mechanic for life.

Instead it's just begging for power creep to affect their build next. Thanks Shavronne's.

If there were more full life bonuses, then yes, I'd agree with you.

As it is, unless you want to wear Ondar's Clasp and are melee (I pity the fool that tries a melee CI build considering it's status vulnerability) with melee damage on full life, it's tough to take advantage of full life mechanics.

I do agree with the principle though. Lowlife builds have gotten multiple buffs lately, and if you can afford Shavronnes with decent chaos resists, there's little advantage to going CI over it.
low life is fine. Shavronne's is the problem imo ;-)
