Beating a dead horse, but trials are awful

If only we had a forum where you could do polls, then we could get some actual data to that instead of guessing.

The only valid data is the one GGG has regarding how people behave with those trials.

But for fun, I went and checked a bit what we have. Here is an example taking deadeye :

PoE2 ninja

There are on ninja, at least 1600 deadeyes (all 80+), that never did 4th trial.
Among those, 800+ of them are level 90+.

Take the conclusions you want from that, or feel free to dig deeper with different combinations :D

To me it just looks like they do first three because it is enough for blasting maps and earning currency. Why bother with 4th then.

And also full of AI "its not this --- its this"

I've typed like that my whole life... I hate that AI does that, i've been accused of being AI all the time cause I tend to make points -- then follow it up like this.

Ah well lol

When "thousands of people" love the game you do not see posts from them explaining how good the game is.

You make it sound like complaints in "early access feedback" forum should be all discarded because there must be people who also like those things?

The matter of fact is that feedback like this is usually negative, because if something in the game is good, you don't need to inform developers about it since they already made it the right way.

Maybe, but then you find guys like that :
PoE2 Ninja
Surely those 200 guys didn't take tailwind nor even a 3rd asc, cuz why bother :D

To me, if the answer to content is "why bother", it doesn't smell good.
i dont even do trials anymore. i do the campaign without points then i get a carry and get all 8 points at once. easy. why so many people frustrate themselves with content they hate doing is beyond me. just buy a carry and get all 8 points in like 5 minutes.

Guy, come on. Do you really think people aren't going to sus out why you're posting Deadeyes specifically who just so happen to have a build this league that is so brokenly OP that they don't need those ascendancy points to trash content at light speed?

At a glance, nothing remotely similar is happening in other classes so I think the only thing smelling off here is your attempt to use this data to reflect poorly on Trials content instead of the imbalance with Deadeyes which we were all already aware of.

2. Honor is just bad. I'm sorry, but there's no reason honor even needs to exist as a mechanic. What gameplay does it create? It seems to exist to just punish specific playstyles and character archetypes for no apparent reason. It's confusing and aggravating for new players and basically pointless to everyone else.

Because if it's set to life then everything has to be tuned to a whole different set of numbers. This also allows you to take controlled damage, I.E. Non-mitigable damage.

Running through a fire does like 0 damage. But it does honor damage...

So the whole point was to bypass clever character build defenses, and give everyone a more finely tunable 'state' for GGG to work with.

I'm not reflecting anything, let me put it again for you : "Take the conclusions you want from that, or feel free to dig deeper with different combinations"
I'm just showing what exists, as it was fun for me. I obviously took deadeye because it's the first bigger sample.

Then I replied specifically to someone that "To me, if the answer to content is "why bother", it doesn't smell good."
Notice how I don't talk about trials specifically. Any content where the outcome is "why bother", is not good sign for me. This "why bother" wasn't from me either. It was also odd to me, saying "why bother" regarding tailwind (regardless of trial topic)

I said before that the only ones who know are GGG, as well as my own opinion regarding the trials. It's not the case in the post you quoted. No need to mix everything up and feel insecure about it ;)
