Beating a dead horse, but trials are awful
" we get it , you like easy as fuck content that waste your time. and if people dont like what you like they re bad people. dunno why ggg doesnt curate takes like these. this type of takes makes trying to do any kind of discussion entirely braindead and a waste of time. |

" understanding and thinking arent your best skills that s for sure. you are probably better at copying builds and spending 100h in trials of sekhemas to learn some stupid gotcha mechanics on the lvl 4 floor after 1h of the most boring gameplay ever |

" Yes, of course. Because anyone who is good in this game must play some copied build right? No. I play my own Mercenary build with literally zero Armour, Evasion and ES and I'm doing fine. And you don't need 100 hours to learn Trials. You need exactly one successful run. |

You made some really good points OP.
I regularly farm sekhemas for loot and to give poor souls a free ascendancy boost but man oh man, do I ever hate those trials. The chaos trials are the worst imo. The debuffs you get are always so unbearably terrible. Do you want to deal -7000000 dmg, Die in 1 hit or not be able to move the rest of the run? Sekhemas.. the trial I know well. After countless hours of farming Sekhemas I can say they are just slightly less terrible than chaos because they still take 20-30 min and even with top tier relics you can still get hamstrung by a series of unavoidable debuffs and have to start all over. Most of the debuffs/boons don't even make sense or add/remove anything worth noting. Its more of a mystery as to why they're there? I hate trap rooms. They add nothing but tedium as they currently are. Im at the point where I'd rather have my screen go blank for 5-10 min and I just spawn at the exit. I sorta like the trap rooms for floor 4 just for the little gimmick of using the time reversal spot to open levers quick or potentially getting locked out of a room. I wish they were more like little puzzle rooms instead of spam dodgeroll rooms until you hit the exit. If Trap rooms on all floors were more like Floor 4 then I wouldn't avoid them every run. I'd probably enjoy them. The touch the crystal rooms are just painfully boring. In my last 100 sekhema runs I haven't died to a crystal room. You just sprint past everyone and out the door before the enemy even knows you were there. They don't make me angry, they don't make me stress or get me to think, they just make me bored. Its like staring at a white wall for 1-2 min. I really like the blood chalice rooms. The hourglass rooms are pretty good too. The bosses should be designed off of bosses from the campaign or put the trial bosses into the campaign somewhere so you atleast have a fighting chance of beating them at level. Going through a trial and getting killed by a sneaky 1shot mechanic or some gimmick attack is extremely annoying. I quit playing my first character after beating the first floor and getting nuked by the rock monster boss exploding once he dies. I nearly quit playing my main character after getting 1shot by a fireball after beating floor 2 bosses. I fought the scorpion in interludes so I knew what I was dealing with for him. It was a good fight. I cheated and looked up a video for the final boss the first time I fought him so I was prepared for his BS. That entire honour system should go. It adds nothing and it makes 0 sense. Whoever thought that it was a good idea to implement it should be demoted to pushing a broom or getting the actual dev team coffees or something. I avoid the chaos trials because I think they're too harsh on the debuffs but I can see someone enjoying that challenge. That honour system is anti-fun. If I get hit during a run then I got to stack people with +ES gear so they don't immediately die on entering the trial. I do it for free because I struggled with the trials so badly I quit the game like a month after launch and just came back this league. If your boosting someone they shouldn't immediately die because you stubbed your toe back on the 2nd floor. TLDR: Everyone hates the trials. Add what makes the base game fun and remove the stuff nobody likes, like Honour. |

" All trials bosses except the 4th one are present in the campaign as side bosses since 0.3. " You can hardly call a "percentage of vocal minority" as "everyone". |

" Where are the fire and ice guys from floor 2? I fought them a few times in maps but have 0 recollection of fighting them in campaign. Same for the big rock guy on floor 1. I have yet to meet a single person who's said they like, let alone love, the honour system. Why are you lying about this? |

" Floor 1 boss is side boss in caverns on Isle of Kin (act 4) and Floor 2 boss is side boss in Holten (1st interlude in chapel-like building). Also I'm the person who have zero problems with trials despite the fact I hated Sanctum in PoE 1. I play with a few friends and all of them feel the same. I did trials on at least 10 characters and never bricked my run due to rng because you can plan your path quite easily. I really don't know why are people so upset about them. |

" I think its been laid out fairly clearly for 3 pages now, also in like 100+ separate threads since launch. Pretty much constantly in game also. That's so cool that you've had 0 problem with them at all, you love the honour system and each individual room type. The staggering majority of people hate them and find them boring. Its generally seen as a needless, time consuming roadblock. I don't get if you're just trying to "flex" your sick gamer skills or what your doing here. If you have 0 problem's then why are you just arguing with people who don't enjoy them? Why are you so annoyed that people want the Trials to be changed, why does that even anger you? If you're worried that it'll make them too easy then remove your relics, take off pieces of armor and remove some skills until you're challenged. |

" I'm not angry. That's the last thing I want to be so I'm not. Especially in video game. And about challenge - yesterday I did my third ascendancy with Grenade Merc who don't use any particular defenses except for life regen and flat phys dmg reduction (no ES, no Armor, no Evasion) and only 19% honor res. I don't try to flex here. I just try to point out that people complain so much about something that can be completed easily and quickly with any character.
