Performance in the future/at release
Right now I'm running this on a MacBook from late 08 using Windows 7 and Boot Camp.
It's playable and I usually get around 23-25FPS in combat with a few mobs. It drops significantly with more enemies, like four or more, especially if they're using spells with a lot of effects (like the Merveil's Daughters and their Freezing Pulse). Now, my computer's quite old in standard years and ancient in hardware years. However, I'm still holding on to hope that by release, I can get 30FPS on a regular basis. Has GGG spoke about future optimization, more display settings (I'd really like to use shadows, even though I doubt I'll be able to, because of the superb lighting in this game), stuff like that to help the performance on lower level computers? |

I don't recall seeing anything about it, but I highly doubt they're going to roll it backwards to cover older machines. It seems counterintuitive at this point in the game to reach backwards for platforms that are generally owned by people who don't play these types of games.

" You can't force people to upgrade their hardware just because you are too lazy to optimize your product. Every sane dev who wants to be successful tries to get the most performance out of his programs. The dumb is strong in this one

" I don't see any support for Windows 3.11. I guess they're lazy. |

I tried running this on my 8088 with PC-DOS 1.0 and I couldn't even fit the game on my hard drive.
Devs, please fix. (Also, this website looks terrible in monochrome, I'd like to see that implemented as an option as well) TehHammer is not a crime!

I agree, the game needs optimization. It didn't run on my pocket calculator.

You're running around with a 8600M GT card.
That's a really outdated card. I'm just barely running this game in 1680x1050 with an overclocked 9500M GS, it's about the same specs. You have almost twice the clock rate on the memory than me because Apple used the DDR3 version, but the core and shader clocks are the same. I'm afraid you'll have to get a new computer, or rely on your cooling system to handle a bit of OCing. |

I know it may be harsh, but...
If player dont have money to get decent PC, whats the chance of paying some $ for cosmetic stuff? I'm short on money as well. But that means I have no rights to demand anything from devs. We should be grateful that we can play for free! |

" LOL, this brings back memories! My first hard drive on my 286 was 40mb (it also had 1mb of ram) and it was partitioned into 2 drives because you couldn't have more than 32mb on one partition! Well hello Mister Fancypants. Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things right now: Jack and shit... and Jack left town. If anything, I'd like to see them up the graphics. Not that they aren't great already.
