Five Weeks into 0.2.0, POE2 is Down 93.2% Players All Time & 83.9% from Patch Launch

The main reason i almost dont play now is because GGG nukes builds to death. You can nerf and balance things, but why do you need to kill the build? What they did to Pathfinder Concoction is SO BAD that i am very sure some of them are actually incompetent.

The real tell-tale sign to me was Jonathan almost shouting at ziz saying "we didn't even touch the campaign!"... doofus, you just fucked every single skill gem in the game starting from level 1 -- GGG doesn't think very well. They miss shit so obvious i'm often left stunned.

I actually laughed at that moment. Jonathan wasn’t even aware of the shadow HP buff on mobs. That alone says everything about how involved he really is. And before that, we found out he doesn’t even play endgame — just casual couch co-op. Oh, and their internal testing? Apparently only done with the Amazon class. Brilliant.

These debates about “player retention” crack me up. There’s a very obvious difference: POE1 loses players because they finished the content. POE2 loses players because the game is straight-up miserable to play.
POE1 drops to POE2 levels after 4–5 months. POE2 hit rock bottom in one.

But sure, keep pouring water on the fire like that “this is fine” dog meme.

I’m still waiting for someone to list those major good changes in patch 0.2 that people keep hyping up. I even went and re-read the patch notes just to be fair. Aside from some new classes and a few decent QoL improvements — nothing. All the new mechanics turned out to be garbage, old ones got butchered, and by the time you reach the “Player Changes” section, you just want to cry.

The real question is... who doesn't do that? Seems the ALF+F4 strategy is so naturally used to skip dying in Sekhemas Floor 4 Boss to skip have to re-do the whole waste of time that is to get in there that it should be a in-game feature by now.

I think what might help you contextualize things a little more realistically is if you understood that the overwhelming majority of people playing this game have no idea who either of those people are.

A game that alienates ALL of their streamers basically fired their marketing department. They are in trouble when they do that. In fact its worse because now people wont play because of the streamers. So you take ALL of your POE1 streamers and tell them "no you are wrong, the audience is wrong, the players are wrong and if you don't like it buzz off." They buzzed off and are streaming other games. Anyone who doesn't think that is a problem is on a HEAVY dose of copium.

Haven't we all seen this before? Hollywood telling the fans they are wrong. Isn't really working out for Hollywood is it.
