Five Weeks into 0.2.0, POE2 is Down 93.2% Players All Time & 83.9% from Patch Launch

Ah ok, so by your ridiculous logic only 5k people like PoE 1.

Let's look at that another way, shall we?

Suppose GGG changed nothing about PoE Deuce for almost a year, going forward. How many players do you imagine would still be playing at the end of that time?

That's where we are with PoE. The fact that people (myself included) are still playing PoE (whether Settlers or Standard) at all after going on a year with no new content is pretty good. =^[.]^=

5k at least, and would render the logic ridiculous just as much.

We each have our own opinion. I'll leave it to forum users to judge their relative merits. =^[.]^=

When was it disputed that you happen to have an opinion? "Relative merits" i.e. confirmation biases. You were given an example demonstrating how your logic is myopic using PoE1 and now you're backpedaling claiming merits are relative when it's absolutely possible to have reasonable, consistent standards for determining the amount of merit something deserves. Your logic and the logic of the OP are red herrings, only employed when it happens to suit your narrative; you've just overtly demonstrated this. It's ok not to like something but to be intentionally misleading while explaining it away as your opinion is unfair and is in bad faith.

Not quite worth a "LOL," but almost.

Read the quote history of the posts you are addressing. No examples were given regarding anything I posted.

3/10 for using three-dollar terminology to "debunk" something you clearly didn't read all of. =^[.]^=

I don't have that kind of time so indulge me(I'll try and limit the terminology for you). The player count of PoE1 was used as an example that effectively addressed your point despite your claim to the contrary. What is a player count threshold that you would deem effective in determining a strong player base; was it >5,000? Moreover, is the OP's method effective to you at determining it? Is the metric you're using to determine the "merit" of a game the player count exclusively? Because if so, that also happens to be flawed.
They really hurt the community in .2. I seen that in the first day. The nerfs to Jewels and changing where they socket on the tree, the Jewels no longer have good minor and major passive nodes nearby to function, its mediocre. Made it so farming jewels from Sekhemas was trash. That was huge community building. Not to mention "the chest" piece no longer being the win all be all.

So many practicing on getting "the chest" or just farming that region, helped the casuals (like myself) and newbies get started. Especially on an alt starting a new ascendancy build is always better with trial carry. Paying a Divine for an alt this far into the season? nah. = downfall.

Not to mention making all the Sekhamas Afflictions unavoidable. 1000 cuts.

GGG seems tired of "losing" to players. During 12 years in PoE 1, they work hard to make things "challenging" and players ALWAYS (I know using absolute words diminishes an argument, but in this case it is what it is) found a way to trivialize content. Players work hard as well to found broken builds, one button nukes, walking similators and all kinds of strategies to crush in game content.

The patches and fixes GGG is doing seems a desperate attempt to give players no option but to play how they design the game to be played. When they give zero sum scenarios, when their only solution to make the game "challenging" is to Kobayashi Maru to players... there is a sign of defeat. But, hey, among us players there is always be a James Tiberius Kirk.

The real tell-tale sign to me was Jonathan almost shouting at ziz saying "we didn't even touch the campaign!"... doofus, you just fucked every single skill gem in the game starting from level 1 -- GGG doesn't think very well. They miss shit so obvious i'm often left stunned.

I think what might help you contextualize things a little more realistically is if you understood that the overwhelming majority of people playing this game have no idea who either of those people are.
