Word. I say go for it personally if you still have any gumption left for this season and just see how you feel with the results because while it may not be an intrinsic fulfillment of finding it on your own, you may feel better just in a different way.


I may put in couple more hours and contemplate trade market if they fix this loot otherwise i'm done for this season. I've tried for the past couple days and always rage quit for various reasons.

With the omen of amelioration you only lose 2.5 % instead of 10 % so it's honestly not that big of a deal personally.

I agree that it's more irritating for some players because the end game is somewhat harder depending on the class you use.

As for the loot and progression you are correct. The current loot system is absolutely horrible and that's the real reason you are not enjoying the game.

Most of uniques are either trash or comes with dumb drawbacks.
From my experience:
Starting with 89/90 gaining level gets a bit slower. But reaching 90 is cake compared to what comes after that.
90 to 95 was tough. XP/hour was more or less 8-12 mio. (lvl 80 mobs, no XP mods)
At 96 XP/hour dropped to ~6 mio I think. (lvl 80 mobs, no XP mods)
At 97 it was down to like 2,5-4 mio/hour.
Now at 98 I am not sure if I ever want to reach lvl 100. It is just ridiculous. Since 0.2 my old build could not really do tier15 maps effectively anymore. Even not after switching from arsonists to vaal guards.
With storm mage build and really high end gear I can probably reach like 1,5-3 mio xp/hour with lvl 80 mobs and no xp mods, depending on map. (just ran sandspit, not picking ip anything, just running, around 3 mio/hour)
Doing rituals, picking up stuff, etc it's most likely 1-1,5 mio/hour.
I am at 8% now. Still need 270 mio to 99. Thats like 180 hours game play (1,5 mio/hour average, no breaks, no deaths, average maps). At 5 hours game play a day, I might reach 99 in about 36 days... yay

Lucky the guys reached 100 level before patch 0.2.0!

After patch is almost impossible to to reach level 100.

Level 96 is 30% reachable
Level 97 is 12% reachable
Level 98 is 3% reachable
Level 99 is 0,2% reachable
Level 100 is 0,001% reachable

RIP level 100!!!

Hardcoded into the game. Thats how the itemisation works. Give or take a lv. Did not look into this too much...was busy playing the game.

It is not just you.

Also expect a legion of people defending exp loss as this holy mechanic that is absolutely necessary in an ARPG(even though no other ones have it, and even in Titan Quest you can click your grave to get back your lost exp lmfao).

Its bad and outdated, should have been forgotten long ago but seems like this game can't innovate past the year 1997.
Overall at this early state of stage game, in its state now (mostly broken, at the whole unbalanced and even more since 0.2.0), such penalty remains a non sense.

Except of creating frictions, playing unfairness. Regarding this, It could be the purpose after-all. This issue is persisting since months now. Without any real disambiguations from GGG for improving this.

The endgame remains the worse experience ever at this stage.

Sometime delaying implementation of a such demanding feature regarding the early state of the game, should have been evaluated and should be re-evaluated now.

Because :

What is the game-sense now ?
How is the gameplay now ?
What is the game-feel at its state ?

If one negative is answered then it is a bad move.

Demanding gameplay, is a demanding conception and need a just balance. I do consider it will exist in foreseeable months. But now, it is definitely not the case.

I remain trustful despite the fact that the last weeks have been really underwhelming regarding this 0.2.0
