Jonathan was right, CHALLENGE IS REQUIRED to have fun

Yeah exactly, even though everything dies pretty fast until deep into the endgame, you're excited to use multiple abilities because they're all actually useful and synergize with each other, without any forced "combo" gameplay.

Here we can't even do a "combo" of making a bow-user who also uses minions to tank the front line for them as defense - something you would think makes sense as a build choice but doing so leaves your character with unviable bow damage and unviable minions that can't kill anything or tank anything.

Everyone's forced into hyperspecializing their builds because failing to do so just makes your character useless at multiple things versus being viable at one.

We're never going to see viable hybrid classes unless there's serious structural changes made to the game itself.

It's not a combo if the abilities are basically useless unless used in conjunction - it's just extra steps to make the ability work.

it's puff puff PASS

But by mean challenge, we talk about the real challenge, not the slog bosses. We should do more damage and they should have less HP pool, but have meaningful combat.

After experiencing Last Epoch last night, I don't want my PoE 2 to be like that ever. You walk down the path, monsters die after smelling your scent. There is no optimizing gear, you just equip better numbers and you are good to go. You almost facetank every boss in there. Its insanely easy from start to end game, people are already on full equipment, almost nothing left for them to look forward.

Jonathan was right when he said, some kind of challenge is required to have fun. We need that challenge, that mind set is awesome. They just need to get it right and then this game is golden.

Fingers crossed for 0.3 league.

The monster killing is certainly not the fun of LE (i mean, it is, but novelty wears off fast), the fun of LE is the loot and what you can do with it right from the start of the game. The tinkering is where its at.

Combat is definitely miles and leagues better in PoE2, but what made many go for LE was the absolute dreary sense of ZERO PROGRESSION via your own will in poe2 (it was ALL via poe trade).

I really like POE2, but since I am an open source kinda guy, I will never vouch for a game that I can't understand or see under the covers.

If open source were the case, then ripoffs like Last Epoch would be at a disadvantage.
