Jonathan was right, CHALLENGE IS REQUIRED to have fun

The only challenge in that game is learning if you have the patience and the insanity of a gambler.
Everyone here railing on Last Epoch haven't spent much time in it. The person complaining that the game shouldn't start at end-game. What are you talking about? You don't restart a character each time you finish the acts.

Last Epoch does some things better than POE. POE does some things better than LE.

Most people here railing on it after it has seen some success after a good patch.

Just go play the game or don't. I don't even know why you come to POE forum to bash a completely different game.
Challenge is totally fine, but when it comes time for rewards and your act 4 Geonor you had to put sweat in killing drops only 3 blues, 500 gold and 1 regal shard we got a problem.
This is not an exageration, this is is litteraly exactly what he gave me. Even took a screenshot of it because I thought it was funny.

I can pick up all the blue and white items I want until I have 6 stash pages worth of them (I actually did that), if at the end of the day i can barely scrape 3 regals and an exalt to craft them it was basically just a huge waste of time.
And it really doesn't feel good.

There are two things LE does better, IMHO.

1) The Controller&Mouse switch. It's seamless.

2) Campaign is way shorter, like WAY shorter.

Theres difference between challenge and unfairness.

Cruel campaign feels the best, because there we have class identity.

maybe early maps because there you can adjust your gear (you see fire dmg, you swap around rings for maxing fire res)

But at the beginning of the game everyone has 0 res and near no defenses

at endgame everyone must be at res cap, maxed out defenses, and so far the only "defensive" mechanic is life regeneration on such level where I admit, if every players goes to max hp in a second the only "difficulty" they can offer is oneshotting the player.
And ofc stacking such level of hitpoints that tries to outscale enemy damage, but after one point you could actually just have 1hp and rely on you mechanics that nullifies incoming damage: movement speed, dodgeroll, block and evasion with nodes.

We need more skills and gem that are actually defensive:
reducing incoming damage, not nullifying them
And stop giving everything heal!

I try to make a tank warbringer, and all I have is regenerate max hp.
Heal is worthless if I pop out.
And not sure how the endgame will be like, but there are a few player who go absolute wall build picking up nothing else than defensive node, yet seems they are just pulvirized.


We need crowd control skill and "counter mechanics" like: quagmire: slowing enemies, but the faster / smaller they are the greater the effect
Skill that scale damage with enemy types. Deviate from 1 button builds to "react to enemy type"

Even our defensive skills are useless.
Shield wall is technically a claymore mine. At least it should block aoe as if I would stand behind a wall...



Endgame sadly is just a statcheck, and whenever I checked out HC streamers the only "meaningful" reaction apart disintegrating the screen wherever they look at is to "skillfully and rapidly logging out" whenever they see something survive their one button "skill"
Why are people so upset that people are having fun playing a different game, lol?

LE is fun because there's tons of build diversity, you don't need a guide to make a viable build, so there's tons of player agency, and you can pretty much choose how easy or hard you want your experience to be.

The game respects your time, doesn't take itself too seriously, and understands that it's a game, and game are supposed to be fun. Maybe it's a bit causal, who cares, they never said they weren't trying to be.

Despite it being easier, you still end up using more abilities in it compared to PoE2. The most viable PoE2 builds are all one button.

It's not challenging, it's tedious and
unrewarding. People are just happy to be actually seeing loot, unlike here. The items are fun and have fun mods, the crafting is great, every ability is good and can be a main ability, etc. That's fun.

Anyone here played majoras mask before? That game literally trolls your time and it was a masterpiece.

That phrase was taken up as a torch to subpar streamers to make them feel like they have an opinion that resonates with people.

That's the first thing I realised when I played LE after this long time again...
it doesn't try to force you to use "combos", but you still end up using more skills.

When I fight a "Boss" or whenever I need it, I use my "Net" as my main skill, place a "Decoy" for aggro change and debuffs on the enemy, pop a "Smoke Bomb" for buffs like dodge and movement speed increase, and send my "Falcon" to attack in bust windowns.
