I cant get past the campaign. Too few mats, gear and unnecessarily difficult. Im out

I really tried. Two characters. Lvl 36 Lich Minions and then a lvl 38 Lightning Deadeye.

On my first character I must have gotten really unluckily with gear & mats.. I reached the end of Act 1 and couldnt down the boss after 15m before running out of health pot charges. I ran through all crafting mats I could and gave up when I ran out.

Second character I got past Act 1 by over leveling myself to 34 before trying. Now I'm being checked on any boss I try(flying dude, flying witch). I simply dont have the DPS to down them in any reasonable timeframe. Yes I cant hit space bar fine. Likewise I'm still incredibly low on mats and dont feel like I have a lot of options on fixing my character without overleveling. I'm not having fun.

GGG: Please dont confuse people "are still playing it" with people like what you've done. Theres a VERY strong desire to love your work so people are trying but this isnt great. Maybe I have less patience then other people who made it to end game but its game, I'm not playing to feel like crap the game should be fun. Please consider rolling back some of things in this patch

* Crafting material drop rates. Bring them back to the levels of last patch
* Start dropping more gear. Theres not enough to disenchant for mats, yellows are way too rare.
* Lower back respeccing costs. I tried tweaking my points around to solve my problem. It didnt work and now I'm broke both ways.
* Boss fights should be fun, not a slog to fight through for 15+ minutes
* Introduce the feeling of gaining power. The nerf stick to skills killed all fun
* Stat requirements on gems seem to have gotten a lot tighter. Its not a fun experience of juggling around travel nodes to meet minimum requirements

---

Lastly be careful not to alienate your player base. You have good will saved up and when you call that will in be careful you're not taking too much away from your customers. Dont become Blizzard

Yo, fella.

After all those buffs you can pick corrupted WHITE scepter with two sockets, stick two bear talismans and finish the campaign in few hours.

The hell are you talking about?
While I agree that the overall feeling of getting stronger is missing in the char progression, lv 36 or 38 should not be so problematic.

However, and maybe that is something not everyone is aware about, checking the vendors every single lv up is crucial because most of the times, you'll find there pieces you'd want to pick up.

And this is a major problem because (aside from being absolutely no fun), not doing that can result in being undergeared for your char progression. And if you get to a point where you must rely on drops to build your gear, well, that is imho pretty hard.

Also, do not look down at blue items.

It sounds like you forgot about trade.

Here's how I ended the campaign: https://i.imgur.com/sAe0H9V.png

Again with the "slog."

The only boss in campaign that took me longer than 2 minutes was Cruel Doryani, and he's got a pretty lengthy intermission: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmIiGgU2_tM

I'm not LS or any "meta" build. It's just what I came up with along the way and I cleared campaign faster than I did in 0.1 with zero deaths and as much as I don't want to believe it I think a lot of you "slogging" folks are just not trying on purpose to try and prove a point.

In half the time it would take you to page through vendors every level looking for table scraps for upgrades you could trade for perfectly itemized gear and it's honestly insane watching post after post pretend like trade doesn't exist like I get the implementation is clunky but so is paging through vendors constantly like you're dumpster diving for day-old bread behind Panera.

Just trade omg it takes a few minutes and you will walk through the campaign and never look back.

being able to check vendors and disenchant for regal shards is cool and all

has anybody ever thought about whether they should want this to be the desired gameplay? It's not exactly fun, is it? Thats why no new player ever thinks to do it
One of the good things in PoE 1 was that you didn't need to check vendors at all. Funny how PoE 2 regressed

One of the greatest games of all time had you checking vendors. D1 & D2 hoping for a godly plate of the whale

Well yes but I don't think that relying on extrenal resources should be the core base of the game design.
I mean, GGG should have planned a solid ingame progression.

right...?

As someone else playing my own homebrew grenades, campaign wasn't too difficult after a bit other than jamanra; doryani was actually the easiest probably because his hitbox in phase 2 is so large so he gets caught easily in grenade aoe. That being said the few times I really ran into trouble it was specifically because the vendors had maybe side grades or even lower level/worse things, I was constantly out of regals from trying to craft up promising blues and only had like 5 exalts at any given time. I changed my build, upgraded my gear with what limited currency I had and still wiped like 15 times....then I just swapped to iceshard bolt and pressed 1 button to kill him.

Grenades are pretty strong once you invest in them, outside of detonation time and the cooldown feeling bad; but, I've played a few other characters and the problem is many of the interactions just feel bad in general.

I spent like 30 minutes trying to trade the other day and got 0 responses for things in my price range for the item I wanted to upgrade. I don't exactly what my limited game time to be spent not actually playing the game but refreshing a trade page and hoping someone responds.

I think a lot of you glazers are just oversimplifying things and disregarding any nuance in the matter.

D2 also eventually had runewords and relatively easy access to farming runes to make them or to use for currency. That is sorely lacking in PoE 2.
