I cant get past the campaign. Too few mats, gear and unnecessarily difficult. Im out

One of the greatest games of all time had you checking vendors. D1 & D2 hoping for a godly plate of the whale

D2 also eventually had runewords and relatively easy access to farming runes to make them or to use for currency. That is sorely lacking in PoE 2.

We'll get them eventually.

People need to realise this is not D4 or PoE1 and change the strategy from relying solely on drops to resource management and checking vendors

I've been playing games for a long time and in too many of them the sentiment is "eventually": next patch will fix it, it'll be addressed in the next expansion, next season will be better. It's old and tiresome.

On your second point, I tried to make a concerted effort to do that this time around hoping to smooth out the experience compared to 0.1 but again, all I saw were typically side grades at best that I didn't have the currency to improve for res or whatever other stats I may have wanted, the good stuff in the vendors was generally for other classes. I didn't have nearly enough money to do any gambling. I still tried a few times and got nothing better than what i had from it.

I play it just like POE 1.

I play it just like POE 1.

The funny thing is that outside of potential issues in the campaign, the game actually gets better if you play it like poe 1 as it's literally just an amalgamation of ideas, namely from d3, grafted onto poe 1 design philosophies but worse.

However, and maybe that is something not everyone is aware about, checking the vendors every single lv up is crucial because most of the times, you'll find there pieces you'd want to pick up.

And this is not even true. I do check every level up. But as yet have not found a single upgrade from the vendors. Found some useful amulets and a belt, but zero weapons or armour.

So while this strategy may work for some it is not a universal answer.

I hope so, after 400 hours.

10000000% CLUELESS
You clearly don't know what you are "talking" about LMAO
easy acces to farm by what ? doing 3000x LK on P8 to RNG a Ohm or a Ber.

Ah nah you're talking about countess run to get some TAL and RAL runes xD

I, too, enjoy ignoring context and nuance. We were talking about leveling and campaign progression and ways to make the experience smoother, you jumped directly to endgame runes. Those 2 things are not the same.

Can you tell me which runes you're using as "currencies" on a early ladder in d2 or even d2r ?????
please don't talk with me about this im playing d2 / d2r since early 2000' every fucking HC ladder i have 5000000x your knowledge level about d2, used to finish multiples times rank 1 EUHCL you clearly don't know da fuck you're talking about with me but come on let me laught !
Red, from the way it seems your personality got stuck in your haydays of the early 2000s, as well. We're having 2 very different discussions here, all I'm saying is at least there was an option to farm something to help you out where you were at in the campaign. I understand you're too much of an elite gamer so this is probably too beneath you to benefit from but I don't exactly remember having any trouble trading around my lower runes for things here or there or exchanging runes for others to get the one I needed to make a lvling runeword. Clearly our 2 experiences were different.

And last epoch. Do not forget how much they stole from last epoch...

Well yes but I don't think that relying on extrenal resources should be the core base of the game design.
I mean, GGG should have planned a solid ingame progression.

right...?

...?

Yeah, again guy. I understand you do not like how GGG has implemented trade. That's very clear. I'm not interested in debating with you about how they should have implemented it.

What I'm saying is that the game as it is designed today is balanced around trade. So if you are having trouble progressing, then you should probably think about utilizing trade. Despite the fact that it is not implemented in the way you would prefer, it will facilitate your progression through the game effectively.

You know what universally works for everyone?

Trade. Just trade for the items you want.

Boss fights should be fun, not a slog to fight through for 15+ minutes

Again with the "slog."

The only boss in campaign that took me longer than 2 minutes was Cruel Doryani, and he's got a pretty lengthy intermission: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmIiGgU2_tM

I'm not LS or any "meta" build. It's just what I came up with along the way and I cleared campaign faster than I did in 0.1 with zero deaths and as much as I don't want to believe it I think a lot of you "slogging" folks are just not trying on purpose to try and prove a point.

And this is a major problem because (aside from being absolutely no fun), not doing that can result in being undergeared for your char progression.

In half the time it would take you to page through vendors every level looking for table scraps for upgrades you could trade for perfectly itemized gear and it's honestly insane watching post after post pretend like trade doesn't exist like I get the implementation is clunky but so is paging through vendors constantly like you're dumpster diving for day-old bread behind Panera.

Just trade omg it takes a few minutes and you will walk through the campaign and never look back.

If you have to trade to complete the campaign - your ARPG is bad, period.
