GGG don't forget the customer is always right (mostly).

Wow what an absolutely idiotic take.
If Ziz was so smart he should have figured out the ingame economy instead of screaming I WANT MORE ORBS GIVE ME THE ORBS.

I swear literally all of the problems the haters seem to have come from being too used to the terrible design of POE1. The poe1 players have 10 years of experience of speedrunning the campaign without killing any mobs or picking up any loot because in POE1 it was optimal. But that's a dogshit boring experience, so Johnathan specifically designed the mobs to punish you for trying to run past them.

The poe 1 players aren't killing the white packs, arent picking up the items, don't slam their exalted orbs and then they are complaining that the game is too hard and too slow.
No you're just playing it wrong.

GGG wants to make a NEW game. different from POE1.

instead of players relying on gear to trivialize content, they want players to also have skill on top of good gear.

this is in direct opposition of what most POE1 enjoyers want.

POE2 enjoyers seem to want the slow and deliberate content as opposed to POE1, as it is where the devs want it to be.

POE1 enjoyers want POE2 to be more of POE1 as POE2 was originally promised to be "more of poe1" (paraphrasing).

both these 2 playerbases have solid points on where they want the game to go towards.

so which customer is righter?

lol

No they don't. PoE 2 enjoyers are actively choosing to play the fastest one button screen clear build available to them, be it Archmage/Gemling in 0.1 or Amazon LS right now.
The people choosing "slow and deliberate" are a tiny minority. Just the facts

POE2 is a trading game focused on economy, and trading is a competitive activity.
By nature of having a market and rewarding the higher efficiency POE2 is a competitive game.

And in any competitive game the players will always optimize and play the strongest build. That means the task of GGG is to balance the game so that the FUN builds are the strongest and the FUN gameplay is the optimal gameplay. Otherwise the players will be forced to play the boring build and when the players are bored the game is bad and the developer loses.

0.2 killed the Spark builds which was absolutely obvious.
0.3 should heavily tone down LS and buff something more engaging, like Bonestorm, it's a very unpopular but fun and mechanically engaging skill that is worth bringing to the forefront.
Here's a fact:

GGG has likely made a TON of money off POE 2 players.

If this game was truly being held up by "One Button Winners", then there would be no reason to continue development, as players would not be financially supporting it.
what are u expecting from them

they still didnt unblock \ return stollen money from 5months ago excident .

like many others they care about money only so they will work on things that brings money while later mb mb they will be honest with those who already paid.
The full quote is "The customer is always right, in matters of taste"

Which means you are right about which MTX you want to buy, but you're not correct in thinking you know how to run the business better. Obviously customers can be very wrong. Just look at 0.2. Didn't "customers" ask for this?

Didn't you all say "Wow stat stacking is so broken in a game where it shouldn't exist, cannot believe they printed these uniques, there are outliers in skills and builds, GGG needs to nerf or remove IIRC"? And now we have this dogshit in 0.2? Because of the "customer" thinking they are right?

A very good quote is "You can always rely on the user to identify an issue, but not to provide a solution".

The people are complaining that they don't like the big maps? But why? Too much content? Too much fun?
Or maybe the problem is actually that they are getting lost and end up roaming around searching for the objective? Maybe instead of just making it smaller GGG should add signposting and hints showing the players where to go so that they don't get lost?

I think that's the real problem. I hate the Lost City not because it's big, I hate it because I run an entire lap around it looking for the Molten Vault. Maybe instead of shrinking the map GGG should add a trail of golden coins leading to the vault and everybody would love it.

This. Absolutely correct.

PS.
"Oooh! Piece of candy."
"Oooh! Piece of candy."
"Ooooh! Piece of candy" ......

"Just the facts that I made up on my own out of nowhere with zero access to any data that would allow me to make these claims with anything approaching this level of confidence, but here I go anyway!"

Just because someone streams the game a lot doesn't automatically mean they understand what goes into designing or balancing it.
A lot of the time, their feedback is based on what suits their content or personal playstyle, not what's best for the game overall.

The devs are the ones with the full picture, the data, the design philosophy, and the long-term goals. What might look like a bad decision for individuals could actually be intentional and necessary for the broader direction the game is heading in.

And let’s be real, this very vocal crowd, including those who take every word their favorite streamer says as gospel, still represents a small slice of the actual player base.
The game shouldn’t be molded around the loudest voices, but around what makes sense for the whole community.
In fact, more often than not, the devs actually do know better than anyone else what’s good or bad for the game.

Sometimes it’s actually healthy to take streamer opinions with a grain of salt. Instead of crying that the game doesn’t revolve around the needs of individual players or content creators, just enjoy the game like plenty of others already do. And if it genuinely isn’t fun for you, that’s okay too, there are literally millions of other games out there.
Not every game will be for everyone, and that’s perfectly fine.
What doesn’t work for one person might be exactly what someone else loves.

And really, if the design is so awful, why are these same streamers still neck-deep in the game every day?
Clearly, things aren’t as bad as the dramatic takes make them seem. At the end of the day, it’s just a lot of yapping over nothing.

Devs having tunnel vision and not knowing how their game actually plays is a very common problem. Yes, streamers and hardcore (as in passionate, not just HC players) players DO understand a lot about the game and they DO offer a necessary different perspective.
