Well, I'm 87 and after 18 hrs I'm near end of campaign. Ok, actually I am 46 but rest is true.
It's fine if game is too hard for some people. Not every game is for every player. I cannot play Fifa for example, I just do understand what's going on there. Not because I don't understand football (soccer for my American friends :)), my brain just doesn't work correctly for that type of game. So I don't play it. I also cannot finish Elden Ring, I tried maybe 10 times and there always is some boss that I cannot get by. And it's fine because millions of people enjoy it. I am just not the target audience. I don't see any diabolical plan to make POE2 just for 1% of players who have no life outside of game. I have family, 9-5 work, and I like POE2. When I get stuck on one character, and it happened on my first char in 0.2.0, I create another one, maybe another class maybe the same class but different weapon or different main skill. And I try to pass the point I got stuck at previously. And usually it works because I have stash with some currency from previous character, maybe some gear that helps in early locations so I can just go through them easier than first time when I had nothing. In 0.1.0 I created probably 20 characters in total, I got 3 to endgame. In 0.2.0 I will most likely do same thing and use endgame character(s) to help new characters. some rares or uniques with no or low level requirements can massively improve your journey through campaign, they can carry you through 2-3 acts even which is huge boost to your enjoyment of the game. My overall goal when I play POE is not t18 maps and farming t4 pinnacle bosses but rather trying as many classes / weapons / skills as I can. In POE1 I have about 500 hrs and I never played leagues, I always was in standard because I wasn't interested in chasing fresh new mechanics but rather learning about the game and having option to have characters that will be always (well, to some extend) viable for interacting with core mechanics. Just my 2c. Have fun. |

My biggest problem is this :
1) This update feels way slowler than 0.1, for whatever reason, it took me 27 hours to get to the end of Act2.. 2) I don;t have enough time to waste on grinding over and over the lower areas in Act2 just to get drops. 3) The way the game feels now should've been only for the Hardcore league There are a bunch of people like me, who can only play for maximum 4-5 hours in the Weekends and maybe squeeze an hour or two during the week. What we want is more drop in rares, magic items and gold so we can break them for currency. I don't have time to keep grinding this over and over again. By the etime i get to the endgame a new league starts. Ok, we get the combos mentality/vision , we get the slow pacing, Souls-Like vision. Ok, that's fine But give us more drops/more gold..more vendor discounts for items |

It's all about how many players GGG wants to pay their microtransactions. Older people have less fast reflexes usually and have jobs and family and can't play 24/7 and prefer a slighly easier game. It doesn't have to be free of challenge, but I'd guess this is the case. Up to GGG to how many % of them they need to cater to to have a decent monetary outcome.

" I think this is one of the most common problems in POE2... this is not WoW where you pick your color of cat-pet and they are all the same... Your build is your power, and you can get it right, or you can get it wrong. The game is won in the passive tree and skill gems page. The comparisons to shroud are silly. You can play POE2 in a way that is as mechanically hard, or mechanically easy as you want. THere are tons of 1-3 button builds that are fairly strong. If you dont want to block/parry/dodgeroll, then don't and make a build where you don't need to. |

" Trade for people who just want to gear up burn the game and move on. "PoE1 Clone Has No Future!" ;) | EA 0.2 | Trade is EZ mode. ;) | Path of Trading ;) | "TLDR: -1 Devs ohhh" (Lol.) | "I've played a lot of videogames. It's my primary recreational activity. Best games ever: Elden Ring and Diablo 4." ~Elon Musk, 2023 | "Dawg", "IQ 48" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ | [Removed by Support]

" I understand you point of view and I'll keep it in mind when thinking about builds. I think you took the Shroud statement to literally I was emphasizing my personal lack of skill. Please remember we are talking about the game from a low skill point of view. Personally I feel the game should be a little more manageable for on the regular difficulty and then scale on cruel. When it comes to builds if you can't have fun with it and stray a off course a little, then I feel like you "working" and not "playing" Thanks for your perspective. |

You have a point, but again -- in the interview, if you saw it -- they (GGG) don't want it to be "trivial".

" " Monsters blitzing you while you have a slow setup was situation normal for mace players in 0.1.0. You want to immediately DPS before solving the enemy speed puzzle. There's always something available to mass slow, even if you may have to look to a different weapon type. There'll be options to put walls or allies (minions, totems, etc) in the way. There'll be chokepoints in the terrain. There's jumping skills to leap over big mobs so you reach those chokepoints. Dodge roll will not solve the blitz. Other tools do. "At least while levelling, gold and vendors is what gets me good gear. Here I wrote what I mean by 'good gear' - it's not shiny yellow names, it's a good single affix on a blue. Then if I feel I need a little more, I spend artificer orbs and quality currency obtained from scrapping gear. |
