I hope they will properly nerf everything that is OP. OP stuff sucks in ARPGs, they become the "meta builds" and the game becomes super easy instead of better and more interesting in the endgame. To be blunt and straight to the point: I'm probably not going to play a piss easy game for a long time. I have a lot of other options of games to play that challenge me. I'm totally interested in a ARPG with loot and trading and all these crafting and item options in the endgame, I just need it to have engaging gameplay as well. I don't think it can just be "loosely click the loot pinatas and then the game is only about dealing with the drops".

" it's not only that overpowered builds create a false impression on the devs that the power level those builds have is the norm, and the content should be balanced around these builds but this creates a situation where weaker builds simply can't do anything and everyone is forced to play overpowered builds we can already see this happening with high difficulty pinnacles at the moment, it's basically impossible for some builds to kill +4 pinnacles, even with infinite currency, most likely because devs used some 8000 dps weapons during their tests, like they did in poe 1 "buff grenades" - Buff Grenades (Buff-Grenades) Last edited by auspexa#1404 on Jan 14, 2025, 8:47:06 AM

I don't think MF (Magic Find) is a problem; HOWEVER, when it becomes more worthwhile to have a weak character, run maps with few mods, low-tier maps, and simply drop far better items than with an extremely strong, boss-killing character and everything else, there's something very wrong!
In my view, they have a few options: Improve the overall rewards for higher-difficulty activities Rework the entire MF system and how it works Simply remove MF from the game Because it makes no sense to play with a weaker character, but with 400 MF, and quickly get loaded with items, while a well-developed, equipped, and carefully planned character drops nothing!!! It's frustrating. | |
" Exactly. This is the impression I have had at one point in the interview. It is very important. You've gotta nerf everything that is OP, the most OP stuff should not delete any boss instantly (not even most of the mobs!!), you should bring it all to the level of most builds in most areas. That is how you are actually giving players a lot of choice and how challenge is actually meaningful and rewarding at the same time. Who is coming to PoE2 to play a easy peasy game? Not me!! I want difficulty in my ARPG, and I want it rewarding and meaningful while giving me all the choice that it proposes. I would even add, it's ok if some players never kill some of the hardest bosses because they are too hard and you can't create a build that will make it easy. This boss will just become more epic and legendary. Last edited by ProMeTheus113#3687 on Jan 14, 2025, 8:51:03 AM

" Given current developments then they surely won't matter if all the new players will leave and they can finance the upkeep of 2 games for the same audience. |

most of them was pretty great, but yeah, I understand what you’re saying. them thinking maces are fine and that getting movement speed on boots is fun is infuriating. it’s almost like they’re trolling with those kind of reactions with movement speed we have no other reliable source of speed so you absolutely have to have it on boots. Therefore it should be at a lower value an implicit and you could still keep it as a prefix at a much lower value too that way if you get it, it’s a bonus, but you don’t have to have it. them keeping things in the game that are absolutely binary as if you have to have it or you’re screwed is so stupid. It’s like the charm slot thing just give everybody two slots and call it done. I’m so sick and tired of this.

" Well the number of players is not lying. 220k players is still good, but losing almost 400k players in a month is saying something. If you can't keep a strong new players fan base, you messed up. Even a game like Elden Ring generated many new souls fan, because the game was more open to newcomers. Playing POE2 only made me return to Grim Dawn, because at least the devs had a clear vision of their product. Last edited by sirbow#3053 on Jan 14, 2025, 12:33:59 PM
