poe2 player ego are deeply hurt , player doesn't like to be challenged because dying

No one has issues with the challage what people have an issue from what I see is the xp penalty VS the reward right now one bad group can wipe off an hour of gaming that stacks up when unlucky mechanics, bad modifiers, buggy mechanics...

bosses you die, you loose completely you get a single chance to fight and if anything goes wrong that instance is gone period which would be great if you had the 6 attempts at it, but then your punished again because that same death resets the portals and then your punished again with the xp penalty

sorry to say that's not just hardcore that's insanity and that's not even the hardcore difficulty that can be in public groups or standard gameplay
i just reroll a warrior and are 86 , i also die sometime, all my fault and lost xp , no big deal , i keep pushing , d2 poe1 you also lost xp ? idk i see nothing new here . not sure what reward you expect from a game 1 month in early access that have 1/3 of is content , do you expect the dev too give you excalibur or Sword of a Thousand Truths
play my first rpg on the intellivision :)

Isn't that the point? where's the innovation? if everything was going to be the same why create poe2? if they only wanted to cater towards that crowd instead of the broader arpg crowd

not sure what you expect from a first month of early access

obviously you never play a beta or early access around 2000 :) game arpg or mmo around that time use to be very rough vs today early access game are so smooth

i play ffxi bqck them and have to wait 3 day for 1 single dragon and you have most best guild of the server camping the same monster

gaming today is just soft vs 2000

to be high warlord in wow you have to play around 16 to 20 a hour a day for 3 1/2 month to 4 month and only 60000 (0.1%) use to be crown

let be honest guy gamer today are just very soft with big ego and always complain

Hello Charley,

I was that guy.

WOW Vanilla:
1. Server: Oceanic/AUS "Firetree"
2. Class: Enhancement Shaman; Windfury Totem spec.
3. Name: Ragingbeaver (I was immature)

It took me 6 months to reach HWL on the Horde. In the end, it got so political because big guilds were controlling who got it that particular week, so I had to play with their premades, farming only three battlegrounds: Alterac Valley, Arathi Basin and Warsong Gulch... over and over... over and over.

I look back on those days with a bit of shame because I was young. I had no life. I had no relationships. I had no job other than to play the game.

That achievement pales in comparison to anything I've ever achieved in life.

Your opinion is valid; it's your opinion and you're entitled to it... but as someone who did "achieve" HWL on the Horde... I don't think I was "hard". In fact, I was soft. I was the one holed up for 16hrs a day -I guess I was too soft to play 20hrs a day- xD instead of living.

Whatever happens on Jan 12's announcement, I wish you the best. But one day, you might grow to find that these videogame achievements really mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.

If you can one day understand what I mean, I'll be happy for you, truly.
And if you think we, as people with lives, are "soft" because we no longer want to sacrifice living a real life in order to achieve a videogame feat, then... to you I say, with love: "Never change."

what is the point to play a video game without challenge ? idk this look boring to me playing a game where the dev build a game for a IQ score around 50 to 65 just for you feel good and dont hurt your ego ,

I have a feeling you play Softcore...

Try HC and see if random 1 hit mechanics are "challenging" enough for you.
Bro if English is your first language you shouldn't be allowed to play video games until you get that cleaned up holy f balls.

Listen the game has challenging parts but this game right now is do enough DPS or get one shot on a lot of bosses and one in particular seems to be fine with having an instagib mechanic that 35% MS boots wont allow you to get into, that's just poor design if you're not giving us movement skills it has nothing to do with challenge. In Maven's Memory Game it is very clear where you are supposed to be stepping or not, and while I dont like these kind of mechanics which are similar to traps at least it was clear where you were supposed to go and if you fail you have 6 attempts it allows you to learn the fight.

I go fight Arbiter and want a fresh take on it so I have limited what I've seen of the fight and it honestly with the time given to get in the circle which is minimal you have to realize oh this part of the floor looks slightly less hazardous lol? That's just bad design through and through- it takes days of farming to get these keys and you get one shot..

Also challenging is not really what you're even talking about because if I can just do 80 million dps and one shot a boss that doesn't mean I was challenged. I'm having trouble getting a better weapon and my monk cruises through T15+ but +4 bosses of citadels have moves I've never seen before either because they genuinely have a new move or I never got to that part of the fight cause I froze them in campaign. Part of the job of the developers is to let you learn on the way to it or if not at least let you learn by playing the fight.

What did I learn from the Arbiter 1 shotting me within 20 seconds because I didnt know where to stand and honestly wouldn't have been able to get to the next circle in time anyway he put it so far away. I dont know what any of his normal moves are and thats days of playtime wasted this has nothing to do with ego.

If you wanna talk about player retention someone like me and my friends who have 20k+ hours of arpg experience finding something too punishing after playing s7 HC when Lizard Squad killed my character every other day in D3 and I keep going.. most casual to fairly avid gamers are going to think its Elitist BS - in PoE there's always been this random 1 shot mechanics that are annoying because a lot of time you dont see them but PoE 1 gives you a chance to go agane learn from it learn the fight. I dont even think there should be multiple portals for maps but for the end game bosses if you want them to actually be challenging and not just punishing you need to either make it more accessible or you need to give the player a chance to learn it.

Games should be challenging, I don't even mind if they are punishing as well but they should never be more punishing then they are challenging.

i think the first month of Ea is done
and is very clear to me ,the average player or casual with also, act4 poe1 player era

just dont like to be challenged

what is the point to play a video game without challenge ? idk this look boring to me playing a game where the dev build a game for a IQ score around 50 to 65 just for you feel good and dont hurt your ego ,

i hope the dev team will dont take the task to build a game that dont challenge player to much in fear to hurt player ego ,

i think back in the old day ggg have the reputation to have done poe hard , but make the game way more easy with the release of act4 not sure is intentional or just a power creep issue

personally i think ggg have the best game , you will always have unhappy player that try to change the game, i just hope ggg dont lost or change the game vision for weird and lazy request

is alright some player dont like poe2 is not for everyone, just go play d4 and he all know 1 or 2 day later you will comeback

sometime i think he are living in a soft weird gaming era.

i like the game looking for the next patch and future content thank you

I did find some feedback in the middle of the longwinded personal attack.
