Trading... do we all really need to suffer this?

Completely agreed. We need an SSF option with boosted loot and targeted farming.

But with the current design team, I doubt that will happen. They seem intent on designing a game that will be abandoned by the majority of their players within 6 months.

They won't do it that because you can migrate characters. It has nothing to do with the "current design team" or their philosophies in design choice. It just makes sense.

The economy will take time to balance out. SSF is perfectly fine. We don't "need" boosted anything. You play SSF by your own choice and if you play it long enough, you don't have the issues you face in trade anyway. Just play more. Simple.

SSF is not really fine, if about 100% of people doing the pinnacle content use trade. And who is "we"? "We" don't need boost? You don't get to talk for all of "us" who play the game. There's a reason why people really enjoyed the factions in LE. It made both trading and SSF enjoyable options to progress.
ive been playing poe1 on and off since Oct 2013 and poe2 for a few weeks and never traded with anyone ever
you dont need to trade to play the game and that is a fact

Trade is a crutch, get good at a game and you won't have any issues. Want an easier game, try D4. You might get a good week out of it before you're bored flying around the map, 1-shotting uber pinnacle content.
I like SSF. I hate trade (and that is putting it gently). In fact, I hate trade with every fiber of my being. It is a slog, it is stressful and it is basically P2W, but with ingame currency. It allows you to skip content without actually skipping content, so in that sense, it is just a crutch because GGG does not provide ways to skip content easily (looking at you campaign). But my opinion on trade is my personal opinion and should in no way affect people who do like trade. Just as the opinion of people who like trade should not affect how SSF players would like to enjoy the game.

I especially love how Last Epoch has done it, they do not need a separate league for their SSF players. All SSF additional drops are marked as being an SSF item and can not be traded on the AH. In fact a SSF player can not even use the AH. And if they "switch league", they can no longer use their SSF marked items.

I am not sure exactly how an implementation as this would work in PoE2, as crafting currency in LE is also Account Bound. I suppose there would have to be SSF marked Crafting currency in PoE2 that also makes any item it is used on as SSF marked.

That said, it works in LE like this, because the trade players have an equal quality implementation with a proper ingame Auction House. I believe that SSF and Trade need to be able to live next to eachother, as well as a SSF Ruthless variant for people who like the trade difficulty without the trade, because their opinion is also valid.

I was fully expecting to have the gatekeepers come in and give me the "git gud" and "go play d4" comments, and they do not dissappoint.

And doing map after map after map is fun and never finding a Citadel is your definition of fun?

D4 might not be perfect but it's definitely a blast every season.

Good luck with new seasons and the casual never getting to see end game content.

I have level 88 character, done all the ascendancy and done over 600 maps, still no citadel. I guess I need to get to get good at the game.

That issue has nothing to do with trade, though. Why do you even post that here?

That said, I hope doing map after map is fun for you, else I am unsure what you are actually expecting, because even with massive changes, the endgame will always be map after map...

Are ggg worried about having an AH due to automated/bot trading? Seems to be the biggest issue with an AH where people can just use a bot to continuously snipe certain item types and manipulate the market and or completely remove others ability to obtain good items at decent prices.

This obviously happens already only that then the player has to actually go and collect the item, do people automate this action as well? Which I imagine should be a bannable offense.

If they do implement an AH that is the biggest hurdle, they need to create strict guidelines around automated trading and make any kind of third party tool use bannable.

Otherwise you just get even more of a worse situation than SC trading is in currently, which is not great to begin with.

Trading in its current state is making the game worse just by existing.
It would balance out if they added mechanics like div cards, crafting bench, and harvest ssf only and gear that interacted with these mechanics bind on account. That way they aren't balanced around trade league blasters.
