" Yes we get it it D4 bad, but d4 being bad doesn't absolve GGG of all the terrible decisions they have made. Its like this was made by another team who only got to watch poe 1 via twitch streamers. How can defense be a priority when upon starting certain endgame events you immediately get swarmed? In this case the best defense is a good offense - kill the bastards before they kill you. " I guess good defense those people mention right now is 10k+ ES/Mana stacking, and GG just dodge all the attack lol (in this virtual hell)... I lose all hope to reason when someone bring the word "defense" in current poe2. Slow in, slow out cuz I'm just a player.

What I don't want to do is dedicate 40+ hours (I think the devs have said it's an even higher number) to a campaign every 3 months in order to reach the endgame. Tedious grind in order to inflate players "engagement" with the game is one of the things that makes D4 bad, but seems to be OK with many players here.
Crafting in both games is just a straight up gamble and neither game provides a satisfying solution to getting better items. Speaking of items both games have affix bloat. I have bricked way too many items with rolls like light radius and accuracy rating. Bad affixes don't feel good, I'm not asking for god rolls every time I craft, but something at least useable would be nice. I am also growing weary of identifying items and playing inventory tetris. These are mechanics of the past that need to be retired. I don't necessarily want to pick up all the loot, but I want to spend less time in town trying to identify and decipher the few items I am able to pick up while playing the game. Grim Dawn has a much more elegant solution to inventory tetris with it's larger base bag space and extra bag slots which keep you adventuring much longer and spending way less time in town all without the additional step of identifying things. |

" For me, it's whether the grind is engaging or not. Campaign is engaging in PoE, it's not in diablo (which is why they allowed bypassing it as other than the story it's mostly cutscene skipping) The problem of feeling weak until you get some proper online skills doesn't go away without the campaign, I found PoE 2 gameplay became fluid much earlier than in PoE 1 or diablo 4 |

" Amen... Never will understand the comparison of D4 and PoE2. This are from the ground up completely different games. Blizzard changed the direction with D3 to reach the most possible player count and wash the gameplay of the game down that a 5yo can play it to endgame. Since then, its a super casual game. A season in D3 lasted for me only a weekeend. Started friday, sunday I had the complete set and season journey done. No change on D4 seasons. And then there is almost nothing else to do.... How can you compare such a blend content with PATH OF EXILE 2? :-) If you want to compare PoE 1 or 2 with any other game, compare it with Diablo 2 LoD. " Me too. Peeps here say D4 is garbage and whatnot, but if there is a thing a liked about D4 was inventory management. Inventory has 4 tabs - one for gear, one for potions, one for keys and maps and one for Guest Itens. At least makes the game more fluid, didn't have to every now and then stop to play some Tetris or be choosing "it I want, it can stay here in the gutter" PoE2 looks a compilation of the worst mechanics in aRPG history mesh together and say it is "challange" or "difficult"... is just bloated archaic timesinks |
