From "Diablo Killer" to "Advertisement for why you should go back to Diablo 4".

POE2 definitely has many areas of improvement, but the foundations for the game are solid for an Early Access - and there's a ton of potential. I've heard a few people state "This is the worst that POE 2 will ever be..." and that statement is spot on.

GGG has a reputation of listening to the community and making changes; but those changes don't mean they will knee jerk react and oversimplify everything, or straight up make the game easy.

Diablo 4 did this, and it killed the game for a lot of people; i.e. they went from low damage numbers at launch, people complained.. now people do quadrillions of damage. they went from loot being hard to find at launch, to full on loot explosions... the over-reacted to feedback, reducing the game to an AFK Idle Casual ARPG.

Also keep in mind that as per the EU disclosures released during the Microsoft acquisition, Diablo 4 cost $1 Billion USD to develop. POE 2 cost nowhere near that, so attempting to compare the two is ignorant at best.

- I don't like losing exp when I die.
- I don't like the complexity of the loot system and affixes/prefixes
- I don't like getting one shot
- I don't like defensive layers, they feel pointless
- I don't like the map system
- I don't like....

Honestly, with no resentment or contention... the game sounds like it's simply not for you.

All my friends love Call of Duty; I've tried playing it, and I find it horrible and flawed. I don't non-stop tell my friends the game they like sucks, I don't non-stop log on to the COD forums and post about how the game sucks.. plain and simple, I'm mature enough to acknowledge I tried it, didn't like it, and move on to find a game that brings me joy.

If $30 to try out a game is too much investment when you end up not liking the game, it also honestly sounds like you need better budgeting in life as a whole.

Totally agree. So many people simply cannot comprehend this and its really sad....

They try to argue that every game should be made "just for them" and ignore every criticism and post to the contrary.
Starting anew....with PoE 2
Game is not for anyone ATM, advertised as slow dark souls like but its just poe1 blasting.
Before you go back to Diablo 4 play Last Epoch. It's an amazing action RPG with all the QoL additions you wish POE had!
I'm enjoying PoE2 I'm glad they made this game just for me

So many people wanting a 40 hour game in this thread, makes you wonder like this is the only arpg on the market and needs to be like all the others that apparently don't already exist

bye then

can i have your stuff
I play them all!
Last week I went through POE2, D4 and back to Grim Dawn over a couple of days to see which I really like better. Grim Dawn is doing almost everything right. Complex enough to scratch the itch, but not so complex that I need to have 3 other pages open in my browser in order to research my build. It's just a shame that the game is so dated.

POE2 is a solid game for early access, but there really isn't much to see here as everything is extremely repetitive and I don't feel like there is really a chase for anything. Contrast that to D4 which has plenty of chase items, but they are too easy to get. Both games are imbalanced right now, but one is in EA and the other still can't figure out what its target audience really wants and is an ongoing experiment in trying to please everybody.

Until then play whatever you are in the mood for and just enjoy the games.

PoE2 feels a bit like they took the worst, most anti-player ideas from D4 and PoE1, then blended it all up and released it as a new game, without bothering to playtest it whatsoever.

Agreed. I have no clue what the GGG devs were thinking. They had the chance to make a fun game that builds on the success of POE1, and instead they took the least enjoyed aspect of POE1, Ruthless, and combined it with some of the worst parts of D4.
