The silence is deafening
" Tencent has nothing to do with GGG aside from being a bankroll. And yes 200 people building what's essentially a AAA title is a small company. Last edited by dkp#0523 on Jan 4, 2025, 11:14:11 AM

If Tencent got nothing to do with GGG, where is Chris Wilson and Erik Olofson?
Also i understand im talking to a paid employee, but still man, how is a bunch of reused assets an AAA game? Are yearly fifa games by EA also AAA? Last edited by Alivkos#3986 on Jan 4, 2025, 11:17:23 AM

Glaze harder. GGG themselves don't call themselves an indie dev. |

" 1) "Filled with loads of problems during beta" 2) "Holy crap it's (insert game name here) finally!!!" 3) Seems to be happy about what they got then, even though it's leagues less content than what GGG released, in a similar state according to themself. 4) Does not extend the same courtesy to GGG. The double standard is so palpable you could cut it with a knife. Last edited by ClockworkShrew#7536 on Jan 4, 2025, 11:24:31 AM

" You're mistaking me for some other poster who is complaining about GGG or POE2. I think GGG has done a fantastic job with the EA release, and am looking forward to what comes next. I'm also happy to give them whatever time they need to get it done well and communicate it effectively. | |
" Apologies! At first glance it read like a snarky reply. My bad :P |

" Tencent is developing the game? Tencent has provided working capital. That's "money" in laymans terms. In my 30 year long career in Software Dev, I have never ever ever seen a pile of money code or debug any piece of software. Tencent money is not doing the work. The work is being done by a small team of developers, who (I again stress) are human and (I again stress) are deserving of HUMAN things like time off. Their GAME (again I stress) is not mission critical. Your hurt feelings about their game is not mission critical. You are not entitled to deny other people their well deserved time off because you have strong feelings about a game. |

" I guess you don't understand that the holidays were the best time for a lot of us to play the game and would've been happy to see some updates. Nothing happened. No complaints were addressed. Now that we're back to business as usual, why the fuck would I waste my limited game time on PoE2 when nothing was addressed despite having plenty of time during a period when I could actually play? GGG lost a lot of trust during this period. If this was a free game, sure whatever I can wait, but right now I really feel scammed. Release a game, address nothing afterwards during a period where players have a lot of free time to spend on gaming. That's scummy no matter how you look at it. And if you disagree, you should try entering the real world once in a while :) |

GGG devs ain't your friends, you bought a game and not an excuse to empathize with other people...
Tencent actually was involved in poe development, not only they have their own version, they provided things like heist league maps. They also own almost every share of GGG. Not involved, right guys. Kinda not very smart to assume mega corp isn't outsourcing parts of the code to save money either, especially if you claim to be a developer and call GGG a small studio. GGG bragged about expanding the studio with Tencent money for last 3 years. Also we have truly innovative things in poe2 like expedition, never seen before in arpg. I also liked breach, what an surge of adrenaline seeing it for the first time ever. |
