The Amount of Time "Vacationing" is Actually Absurd
I'm a kiwi and also find it weird there's been no check ins. It's very disappointing that they definitely should be back at work today and silence is not golden. In the small group of friends that started early access with, only a third of us are left playing regularly.
Lots of businesses shut shop at Christmas but it is not law or compulsory. IGN: Keewee Last edited by Keewee#5451 on Jan 5, 2025, 7:37:21 PM

First month of release:
Let's take 3 weeks off. Game crashes, stuff is getting duped, balance completely whack. I can understand having less people in the office over the holidays. I think that's the case pretty much everywhere. But shutting down everything? For three weeks? In the first month of release? That's self-sabotage, if anything. How is anyone defending this? It's absurd. |

" If it was a "release" I'd be with you ( I'd still expect everyone to go on vacation and jump online if anything super extreme happened though ). Since this is an EA, I see no point of them being around, broken economies and dupes etc shouldn't mean much at this 'state' of the game and nobody should care about those, we're here to find bugs and weird stuff so we can give feedback and proposals to make it better for the release. Also a lot of people are still mentioning this "shutting down everything", who said that everything was shut down? There might've been developers working on patches for example ( along with plenty others in other positions ) but whoever is doing the pre-release checks could be on vacation so.. no releases, work is being done though in the background. You don't know that. In parallel we also enjoy ( or not ) the gameplay itself, but the economy and stuff like that shouldn't have been the main focus. That's my opinion though :) . I don't 100% agree with OP but definitely get the sentiment, at least some sort of cookie cutter 'we hear you' response after the new years would do the community a lot of good. Also, the people attacking OP are vastly underestimating the size, profits and general capabilities of GGG especially considering that Tencent plays a sizable role in their operations. I understand where this sort of 'appeal to emotion' line of arguments is coming from, but its significantly less effective when their yearly earnings reports have profit margins that are in the tens of millions. Calling people who disagree with you names does not help either. Either way, I hope we hear back from them relatively soon™. |

Oh, don't worry.. they saw people having fun by opening multiple instances of Sekhamas and fixed that just now.
Fun is not welcome here. Visit my Steam profile here: https://steamcommunity.com/id/TheBaconOverlord/

" Zero announcements, zero patches, zero acknowledgements of anything that has been going on. At this point we very much DO know they completely shut down. And since when. What we DON'T know is when they come back... One month vacation just after release? Any takers? |

" As I said, there could've been 15 developers writing code but whoever needs to review that code and approve it for a release not be there. Support people have been around, it doesn't mean that the whole team was around but some where here. Same for the announcements, having a couple of people from the "pr" team or however they want to call it keeping an eye, doesn't mean that the person who has the final word to release anything is there. Why is this so hard to understand ? We always have people working 24/7 in my company as well, that doesn't mean anything, if I'm not around, none of my teams are allowed to push code, end of story, it's a rule and that's how it should be as I don't want anyone waking me up in the middle of the night saying "we messed up" haha. See my point? So "you" still don't know anything, unfortunately, you're not in those offices and have 0 idea what's actually going on. You can speculate anything you like though, but you don't "know". |

" but the good thing is information is available to the public. for example There are 4 public holidays over Christmas and New Year. The 4 public holidays are: Christmas Day (25 December) Boxing Day (26 December) New Year’s Day (1 January) 2 January. on top of employees allowed a total of 4 weeks paid vacation time. this is all by choice. |
