The Amount of Time "Vacationing" is Actually Absurd

"
First of all, GGG has this holiday break every year. They also do this during their December Leagues, & they even mentioned this ahead of time so it is to be expected.

They also said Early access would have at least 6 months, so what are 2 weeks of waiting? After the Holiday break, you still have at least 6 months to nag them about what you complain about. Atleast give them these 2 weeks to spend time with their family like most people in the world.

The Holiday break for GGG has benefits for us players too. It will give the devs time to unwind & unpack all that's happened. It can give them fresh perspectives & solutions to the issues brought to them.

I bet you some of the devs already thought of a solution to one of the problems brought up to them, & eager to go back to the office feeling recharged to test & implement them.

Sometimes if you are bombarded with problems, you just need to step back, & give yourself time to clear your thoughts so that fresh & better ideas to come in.

Just be patient, just like PoE1, PoE2 is a marathon & not a sprint.

If you think this EA is only gonna be 6 months I have a bridge to sell you. It needed 6 months before even being released in EA. It was dumb of them to release it when they did and should have waited until after their break.

Honestly they should have had a rough roadmap to release over the extended break.

tone it down. play another game or touch grass. It's just a game, an early access game at that.
Its easy - they will just be silent until 90% of ppl quit the game and then they will decide to actually update stuff to lure the players in.

It's funny because even if they DID wait for 90% to leave....I would say the vast majority, if not MORE would come flooding back if a major update came in. Happened every 3/4 months in PoE 1 for 8 years. That's what is so hilarious about the impatience of threads like these. GGG isn't stupid...they have 12 years of data showing player metrics and rises and falls. PoE 2 is new, and players are dropping...but all of that is entirely expected and I bet the current metrics are wildly better than anything GGG could have predicted or hoped for.

I get the feeling you were being facetious, but you don't realize how right you actually are. There. is. no. rush. It could even be part of their "game plan" to see how long they can let players dangle without dropping below a critical mass they set for themselves. It gives them data on how long they need to keep player's attention for future leagues.
Starting anew....with PoE 2

I'm confused, you seem to be talking about them releasing free DLC's every 3-4 months for 13 years as some kind of nefarious scheme. The idea that they are deliberately testing how quickly they can lose player base by intentionally letting people dangle would be an insane business model.

Yes, player count drops off after launch. This happens with 100% of games. Period

In that time, GGG has released two patches and multiple hot fixes, way more than I have seen in other EA's/Beta's/ or even actual "launches" (cough cyberpunk cough).

They are taking a 10 day holiday for Christmas. The truth is they are a company of roughly 100 people. They would have had to make a choice between closing up shop for a week, or risk having a critical mass / just enough key contributors, request PTO during the holiday season to effectively cripple their ability to send out additional patches.

In these ten days, could they maybe have pushed another patch and some hotfixes if they forced everyone to forgo their holiday time? Sure. That said, since this was supposed to release in November, you're talking about rescinding holiday requests that were made months ago. You're also talking about extending the crunch time, as I'm sure they were working nights and weekends after failing to launch in November. Why? Because the business side of the company would never allow them to miss launching in time for the Holiday season, AKA the biggest shopping / consumer event in the world.

Perhaps I misread your tone, if so my apologies. Perhaps I spend too much time on the forums because the number of conspiracy theories I'm seeing about GGG being out to get us is pretty nuts. They are a game developer. They exist for two reasons,

1. to make a profit
2. to do that by making quality monetizable games

Yet they released the game with a bunch of systems that were abandoned in PoE1 only to implement them again. Make it make sense

The largest holidays in their lifes since highschool lol
Take the tin foil hats off, go open steam and play a backlog game for a week.

You need to quit treating Early Access as a full feature release.

The amount of entitled people in here expecting a company to fold for them because of their forum post claiming the end of the days is here is unbelievable lol.
