The Amount of Time "Vacationing" is Actually Absurd

I am glad they released it when they did. It give me something to play over the holidays. Since I am a adult with more than 2 functional brain cells, I understand this is Early Access and not everything is up to a release standard. I also understand that it's a major holiday time and knew they'd be gone until the beginning of the New Year, since that's literally what every other game company does. The game does have issues, an if you encounter a game ruining one for you, put the game down for a patch or 2. If you are stressing this much over a vacation, perhaps Early Access isn't for you. It's gonna be a bumpy ride that you seem unsuited for. My suggestion, wait for about a year, when the game is finished and ready for release.
Go research the update history of Starfield after release with all the backlash that game got and then see if you've got anything to complain about....

GGG is the gold standard right now and all you can do is gripe. Maybe that says more about you than it says about them.

Don't release your "early access" game right before the holidays then disappear claiming its holiday season. This is the biggest period in your company's history and you're leaving the part time bug fix guys to run your business. Where are you?

Your game has a tremendous amount of backlash right now.

Your streamers are going to get tired of falsely telling people this game is 95% good. Their financial gain is going to run its course. Some are beginning to let their feelings fester now.

Your biggest defenders are going to reach their honeymoon phase as well. The more casual audience is going to reach this map system and throw in the towel. This is happening now.

Your 'GiT GuD'ers and "ItS aN eArLy AcCeSs'ers are sounding more and more like the boy who cried wolf every day. I was one of them for a few days myself.

But now, there's simply no way you took the 10+ years of experience you gained from PoE and channeled it into PoE2, with us in mind. You just didn't. This game is bad, and right now the last thing you ought to be doing is claiming vacation time.

Every core staff member should be in office. Updates should be presented. Want to have a conversation with anyone? Doesn't seem like it. Where are your interviews with members of the community?

GGG, it's been 11 days since your last announcement and if you intend to make it another 11, things will get really, really loud. I'm telling you, your streamers and influencers aren't far from letting it rip. Either they get tired of this game or their audience disappears because it got tired of this game.

Don't forget, you have pulled an Overwatch and let PoE1 stagnate at the same time. Weren't there only like 12 people working on PoE1, and you still had to skip a league?

This is an overarching statement on the game. There are so many specific problems that take too long to write out, and many build upon one another. Meaning your game is flawed from the ground up, there are no hotfixes for most of this.

For example, your intentional large map design is coupled with punishing choke points, PoE1 fast enemies, terrain which obscures vision, an aggressive amount of on death effects, etc. There is no patch for this. This is the fundamental design of your game, and it is wrong and bad. There is no reason you should be on vacation and not working right now to redesign this entirely. Unless you think this is good, in which case you better reallocate your resources back to PoE1 pretty soon because you aren't going to retain a player base here. You have a lot of yes men in the fanbase and they aren't going to steer you in the right direction. You need to rewrite every single map and replace the existing ones with better ones. Every. Single. One.

That's just one example of multiple issues creating a systemic flaw in the game.

I would hope you intend to open a dialogue pretty soon. For your sake. Man, these public figures aren't going to maintain a composure forever. And when they turn, or if their audience leaves them, they are going to turn on you. Maybe they already know things we don't but, considering your "vacation" I'm not so sure they do.

I am inclined to agree with the OP. GGG has been pretty much printing money with this early access. Therefore, a vacation in the peak season is nonsense - maybe in January, but not now. Someone replied about "work-life balance" - I would say that this is what lazy people say.

I think they pretty much "allow the backlash unanswered" to let people vent. They do not engage as design. But make no mistake; in my opinion, the game is infuriating with its level of unfair mechanics. Life is unjust already; we do not need it in games. Unfair does not equal difficulty—I love a good challenge. Overall, I do not think there is an excuse for the state of the game.

The streamers have their faults, too—they have lost their "honesty" in my eyes. They see the opportunity, understand the hype, and play along to get subscribers and views, which generate their profits. They need the hype for their business and will be happy to contribute. They are slowly becoming "mainstream."

lets not set the bar too high
good reply tho, i agree with you
Bro paid in to be a beta tester and instead of giving feedback because there is too much to type out for the feedback would rather turn into an [Removed by Support] and complain making a list whinging complaints about a holiday and reinforce that behavior across the thread, all this energy could and should be devoted to listing all of the issues that the game has but would rather cry and throw a tantrum because he doesn't have developers at his beck and call.

Do people actually think the game is gonna disappear over taking 1-2 weeks of for holiday vacation?

I mean theres problems but they gonna get fixed sooner or later. It's not really like as if they don't fix it right now this moment the game is doomed forever so idk why people overreact on this stuff so much.

Yep, sure. They lost their honesty because unfortunately now they disagree with you. Therefore they are being dishonest. Because how could anyone disagree with you?!

Most of the "big names" are brutally honest in their videos. They say exactly what they don't like, what is garbage, and then they explain step by step why they still LIKE the game, despite its problems. Folks can't seem to get past the fact that others DON'T agree that the game is a total dumpsterfire from the ground up.

This whole "they don't agree with me so they are liars and shills and xyz" mentality is bonkers.

In this thread, and all other copies of it on the feedback while, there is at the very least a 50/50 split of people who dislike the game, and people who love the game. If we are talking about gradations of "dislike", there are significantly fewer posters who think the game is in a "trash" state and hate everything about it. MOST critical posts are about specific issues they have, but don't exaggerate that the world is going to explode if they aren't fixed TODAY.

I personally dislike many things about the game. I also disliked many things about PoE 1 during the open beta. But they changed! When you pay for EA, you should EXPECT change. Complaining about the rate of change is tiresome and entitled. The ONLY thing that truly matters (yes, even to the OP), is whether the changes align with your enjoyment or not. What happens when they roll out the next patch and it doubles down on everything you hate about the game? Are you then going to complain that they shouldn't have ever patched the game?

Take ownership of yourself and the reality that is PoE 2 and EA. If you aren't enjoying, leave feedback about what you aren't enjoying. STOP PLAYING. Maybe they will listen, maybe they won't. But personal attacks on the company as a whole and the individual people inside it....is NOT feedback, nor does it accomplish anything.
Starting anew....with PoE 2

Agree with everything said. Being silent is insane. ATLEAST tell us you hear us and news is on the horizon.
First of all, GGG has this holiday break every year. They also do this during their December Leagues, & they even mentioned this ahead of time so it is to be expected.

They also said Early access would have at least 6 months, so what are 2 weeks of waiting? After the Holiday break, you still have at least 6 months to nag them about what you complain about. Atleast give them these 2 weeks to spend time with their family like most people in the world.

The Holiday break for GGG has benefits for us players too. It will give the devs time to unwind & unpack all that's happened. It can give them fresh perspectives & solutions to the issues brought to them.

I bet you some of the devs already thought of a solution to one of the problems brought up to them, & eager to go back to the office feeling recharged to test & implement them.

Sometimes if you are bombarded with problems, you just need to step back, & give yourself time to clear your thoughts so that fresh & better ideas to come in.

Just be patient, just like PoE1, PoE2 is a marathon & not a sprint.
"A game IS supposed to waste your time but it's not supposed to make you FEEL like you're wasting your time:
It's supposed to make you WANT to waste your time."
In all honesty I also said, why are they taking a vacation now when I encounter bugs all over the game. (in a kind of raging moment)

At the same time though I also understand given it's the holidays. Everyone at GGG deserves their time off as much as any of us during the holidays. (they are most likely playing themselves)

I would even dare to say from a strategic standpoint it's a really good thing. They are getting a massive amount of data from these 2 weeks given that on steam alone there are still 365K+ players daily. Take into account standalone, Xbox and PS5 it's probably closer to a million.
Getting that massive amount of data and feedback will help to address all the bugs, concerns, suggestions, etc. when they are back.

I've also experienced some really annoying things like oneshots, bugged atlas nodes, monsters/rares behind walls you can't get to, broken defenses, broken skills, broken rarity, etc.
There for sure is a lot of work waiting for them. But 2 weeks isn't the end of the world to wait for us as players. We waited 5 years for it to come out, it's here -> in early access. You obviously can expect bugs in an early access release... it's basically a beta test to get the above data so they know what to do next.

Path of exile 2 is for sure really buggy now; but it also has a lot of good things and the potential to be the next best ARPG. I would even dare to say it's already the best looking at the numbers. Is it annoying to die from a one shot or encounter bugs YES absolutely. Will I let the loss of content, loot and exp stop me from playing, exploring, getting better... hell no.

I gave my honest feedback to GGG and just wait until they are back and enjoy the holidays myself.
