Boots - Make movement speed on boots implicit
" My problem with it being an implict based on lvl required or ilvl is that it creates problems with levelling items or for special endgame builds that use specific low level uniques. If they lock it based on ilvl, we will have the same problem with have on levelling wands, like lifespring, that when you drop them on maps, it would have high level required as the implicit scales with ilvl. If they lock it based on lvl required, useful uniques like Trampletoe (lvl 27) would have lower movement speed. I'd prefer that they just add a good amount of move speed (30%?) to char's base speed. It would be simpler and would create less problems. |

im not rly taken with the idea of it being completely implicit usually, its an issue i go back on forth on in my head. its been essentially fine for 12 years in poe1 and ive never felt its a problem.
it could be both tho. 10-20% implicit movespeed on boots based on the base item. potential to roll 5-15% explicit. i think that makes the extra 15% highly desirable but if you had 20% implicit its not absolutely essential. if we deem it being essential is a problem, im not convinced it is but im not unsympathetic to the idea. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :) Last edited by Snorkle_uk#0761 on Mar 26, 2025, 12:36:00 PM

+1
But they already said something along the lines of: "i don't see a reason for movement speed to be an implicit thing" In coop for example the difference in movement speed makes the experience as a whole simply not fun, but i doubt most the devs in GGG care about that, and you know how stubborn they can be so i have no hope that they will address this issue at least in the short term |

" Not to be contrarian but there is one scenario. There's a chest piece, forgot what it's called, queen of something or other. At any rate, it gives you MS based on your evasion rating but doesn't allow you to get MS from any other pieces of gear (and perhaps other passives, not sure). But yeah, +1 for OPs idea. |

" Yep. Especially uniques would be cucked by this, and making it an implicit would remove other implicits. Personally, I would prefer if they add movement speed with each level up. For example, "0.33% movement speed per level" (starting with 0.33% added on level 1). So with level 90, everyone would have an increased movement speed base of 30%. " You're talking like GGG never made a mistake like this before, the reason we have charms in the game is that they didn't have time to come up with something better before the launch of EA Since the LA playtest event ppl were telling them that 5 flasks were too much with the new movement-oriented combat of poe 2, they only changed their mind at the very last moment basically |

In fact, the reason behind all the features in this game is they didn't have time to come up with something better before the EA launch.

temporalis build don't need it tho :D i think it's ok as it is but i wouldn't mind if the base movement speed was increased a lil.

how about nerfing player dmg and giving us more loot per monster kill, and make maps smaller/denser.
(also remove the mod from boots) this would just reduce the distance we have to travel in each map fixing boots and frustration both and all else would stay same. |

" It is not just about clearspeed. It is a lot about dodge boss attacks too. For those not cheesing the whole game, I mean. |
