Who is not doing their 3rd trial? I'm not until they change it.

yup - 3 trials for 3rd ascendancy. Melee char - Close in damage! (tried this 3 times .. GRRRRRRR)

Guess what killed me?

Had timer to kill rares, on ground effect I couldnt dodge - up against wall.

Skill failure ... ROFL - its CRAP - utter crap. I did the 1st one massively late so stuff would die fast.

Now - I am hating the game. Roll on D4 - back to that crap - its free :)

Everythings about it is puerile rubbish.

Fight something, avoid something, die to something you cant. Is this POE2?

I'm a melee HCssf andy who didn't enjoy Sanctums in Poe1 but I actually like the Trials of Sekhemas and Trials of Chaos (please don't flame me), and will probably like the 3rd option. I admit that the Trials of Chaos most likely needs balancing.

I'm very surprised that so many people either hate it or have trouble completing the trials. The first 3 floors of Sanctum seem to be fairly balanced and I'm playing one of the worst classes, surely the slowest. I've read for the floor 4 boss you can stack the stat "Reduced potency of slowing debuffs on you" to help with the hourglass phase.

I did it first try but I am far of telling people that it's balanced. It's abysmal RNG mess. Nothing to be proud, just right relics and luck with no bricking mods.
On Probation Any%
I did the third trial pre-nerfs.

Unlike you I took 10 minutes to undertand the mechanics, farmed a few relics, unlocked my Relic slots by doing the 2nd trial (instead of crying and not doing any of this content).

I did it at lvl 69.

Was I over-levelled? Debatable, the 3rd boss is really a lot of bullshit unless you have heavy CC / freeze.

Did I walk into the 3rd boss fight with 6.9k honor after losing almost none on prior levels? Also yes.

Did I do it pre-nerfs?

Yes.

Did you do any of this? No.

I miss old poe1 lab, i really liked it. but in poe2 lab is just straight up no fun.
I grinded the honour relics and was having a decent run, having lost seemingly instantly several times to the snake boss despite carrying poison immunity charms, only to get walled at the second last room by death a death crystal that seemed to think an enemy was still too close (I saw none and attacked with aoe frantically until the timer hit 0). This was, of course, due to the controller not being designed to prioritize interaction with items or objects if an enemy is within "x" distance of the player.. which I hope is weeded out after early access as a &*%# code decision.

Yes, I bound the interact key after this mess which honestly feels jarring during map runs, but being noped out of a run that was going somewhat will with the options and having runs locked behind a random drop needs to gtfo.

Locking this sort of thing behind a gimmick like this is unfortunate. I mean ffs.. you can go the entire run,.. not get hit at all then enter the final boss and find a room filled with poison arrows honestly, a boss that randomly glitches out and never resurfaces, and bugger all you can do about it other than slap a poison immune charm on and pray the encounter doesn't glitch. The rate of honour drop from the poison alone feels like a troll from the devs, not a challenge to be overcome.

If anything, don't lock it behind a random drop that you can go days without seeing drop. Don't design it like it's a *%(#ing certification that makes you wait a month before you can retake an exam. Better yet, listen to overwhelming feedback of players who absolutely despise these trials. For every one person who seems fine with the trials, there are scores more who hate it. This is not an attack or judgment against folks who have expressed enjoying, but it's undeniably disliked by the majority of the community. These trials are about as intelligent of a decision to implement as the D4 trap season was (very quickly changed in response to how dumb it played out in practice).

tldr;

Labs were fun for the most part, these trials just feel like rehashed hot garbage that most folks didnt much enjoy as standalone seasons that they're cramming down our throats like we're a bunch of ducks (fragua) and being told to enjoy the throat fisting because the community didn't enjoy them or interact with them much the first time around in POE.

I yesterday went there happy to get my third ascension. Completed it and then i realised i need to do it 2 more times.

I just instantly closed the game.

Its amazing how the devs even thought it would be a good idea

I didn't like or Sanctum in poe1 but I do in poe2. Can you at least explain why you don't like it? This is not very descriptive feedback lol. Also, it's more fair to say that they took two of your least favorite game modes.
I am DEFINITELY not going through all this Sekhema's crap. No way. The trial is simply NOT MADE to be beaten by melee class, save for the instance of you having an absolutely God-like equipment. It is an equipment check, not skill check for sure.
Like, make it make sense, please! You, as melee character, is SUPPOSED to close in with the enemy, take some hits to counter back with vengeance. That is your whole basic gameplay loop for dealing damage. And, suddenly, you are told, that you are NOT ALLOWED to be touched ever again, or you will instantly lose. It literally says in your face "Wrong class choice, loser!", like WTF?
So, thank you, but NO. I will wait until the Chaos trial, thank you very much. At least there I allowed to play my class as it is supposed to.

P.S. The fix is quite easy too, you know? Just make it so we are rewarded with honor after killing rare and unique monsters. That way, even if you have to spend some of it, while fighting in melee, you still is able to raise the honor back after you deal with those kind of treats.

Or just remove that honor crap completely. That stupid trial is tedious and annoying even without it and the RNG regarding the room mods can also still screw you over...
