Basically I am not a fan of PoE1. Was already turned off since beta. Over the years, made several attempts to get back, but something about it just doesn't click with me. Still not a fan.
Now, PoE2 is different for me, yearning to get back in game while grinding my daily job. Enjoying every moment of it in my 4 hours gameplay during weekdays after work, and 12 hours gameplay in the weekend.

First - POE 2 is far different from POE 1. I think, GGG screwed up using the same name but did it to carry the brand. It, was a business decision. It doesn't tick many of the POE 1 boxes so of course, people are going to get pissed off.
At it's core, POE2 is a very solid ARPG with a fairly amazing engine but is clearly pre-release - it is 1/2 to a 1/3rd of a game right now. Some of the bugs are big suck, there aren't really many viable builds (as, ultimately, it suffers from the POE1 syndrome of 'just kill the boss before it does anything')
I'm excited for the rest of the campaign. End game needs a looooot of work but it's really no different than POE 1 way back when it released. It's actually closer to a spiritual successor to D3 than D2. Hell - I'm not even sure it's a spiritual successor to POE1.
I will, 100% play POE 2 when there's all the classes, all the weapons. There will be changes to the way support gems work, guaranteed. I also, can see why many, many POE 1 fans will not. It is a great 'souls-like' ARPG.
It is not - POE 1. I do not have 13 tabs open to figure out how to optimally craft an item, or have some jank combination of gems / tree that work.
The problem is - people are comparing the two games and you can't. I put a lot of that on GGG trying to utilize the same brand name. I also, have confidence GGG will refine and carve out an amazing game in the POE 2 sphere. I do not think POE 2 will scratch the POE 1 itch for many though.
I would of liked to have played my degenerate, whack-a-mole dopamine simulator with my crafting codex that is POE 1. POE 1 was like stock-market simulator.. you can't even really buy anoints without an unreal amount of currency in POE 2 at the moment... it's tough to get a totally functioning economy like POE 1 was, just look at the divine / exalt market impact change when the meta craft changed.
POE 2 is not superior in every way because it's comparing an apple to a grapefruit. POE 2 is fine in it's own right. I enjoy POE 2 but I understand why people could be vocally pissed off.
I think perhaps, OP should consider taking their own advice and sitting down instead of chain stringing replies - there are very valid points in the rabbling. Other 2013 account says it well, people just don't arcitulate their valid points well.
if ots not poe 1 then why do the pc players still use all the trade macros and adons? why cant pc players play vanilla? its poe 2 not 1 right? console is FORCED to. they should BAN ALL AD ONS AND TRADE MACROS.now cry to me about your need of trade crutches then tell me trades fine on console. you tell us to look at the market that you right click and cheat all the info onto your screen. consoles cant do that. its so funny how the coddled pc player tells the console players to sit down....
That's the point you handicap...... it's NOT the same game. It's console driven.
At least you can turn your console on, probably stretching your capabilities :)
edit: PS I never mentioned add-ons, just the fact you are researching stuff. Did you mix up your accounts or something? You have someone being an absolute dick and come off like that. Like breathe from your nose............ I think we are seeing why POE1 fans are frustrated, this is "our game" now. If you are seriously deranged enough to want to play a ARPG on console I don't know what to say to you.

no i cant. please come to my house and help this poor console peasant. im so stupid i cant press a button. at least i can look at a trade site and not have to use cheats and be coddled with all my adons. everything you claim is fine you use an adon to fix. its people like you that keep games shit because you can cheat to fix it. i cant wait till they ban all the adons in poe 2. its a new game right? GGG PLEASE BAN ALL PUBLIC API USE AND ALL ADONS AND MACROS. poe 2 is not poe 1 so they dont need al those cheats anymore.

And secondly, people need to learn how to give feedback:
- Be specific and provide examples.
- Focus on actions or outcomes, not personal attributes.
- Use constructive and respectful language.
- Balance positive feedback with areas for improvement.
- Suggest actionable steps or solutions.

I have 2500 hours in PoE, but I think PoE2 is better in almost every aspect. Stop thinking that you represent the entire playerbase. You don't.
I can't believe these were consecutive posts, but here we are. Are we sure you didn't forget to log out from one GPT instance to another when you generated these posts?

I'm a fan of poe1
They made a product that I view as inferior in almost every regard.
Doing so made poe1 worse by diverting resources from it.
It is clear to me that poe2 is a product of hubris and idiocy.
I hate that it exists, I hate that it has split the community, I hate that poe1 has less content and a reduced player base because of it, I hate that people are hyped about something that has dramatically negatively impacted my enjoyment and future enjoyment, I hate that sub-communities are focused on something that I hate.
If poe2 servers were accidentally destroyed and the source code lost I would find great joy in it.

Feel the same for me...
PoE1 has been my favourite video game for 10 years and I haven't found any other that gives me as much motivation and enjoyment. PoE2 only made me feel frustrated and bored. Worse still, I have the feeling, like many people, that it will spell the end of PoE1.
And yet I tried to love this new game, I invested a lot of time in it and questioned myself to see if I wasn't doing it the wrong way. But I can't find any solution, this game is insipid and clearly doesn't make me want to turn on my computer in the evening when I get home from work and spend two or three hours playing it.
I hate PoE2 so much that I've turned Grim Dawn back on to revive a character, and I've just bought Diablo4 and its expansion to pass the time. Titan Quest 2 will fill the gap for a while yet, but I think I'll soon find myself without any games that give me what I found in PoE1.
GGG will invest less and less time and money in PoE1 until it dies, the community will be less and less important and the economy less and less active. I feel as if GGG has stolen something from me that I cherished more than anything else without giving me something at least as satisfying in return.
When I see the gameplay and the direction PoE2 is taking, I think a page in my life is being turned and I have to say goodbye to a licence that would have motivated me so much...

I'm enjoying the game overall, but I just wish it was more than Path of Dying to AOE ground floor effects. Some of them trigger SO fast like from that floating plague mob and expedition mob that you barely have time to react.

I haven't played PoE in a very long time and coming back to this for the latest instalment, there's definitely a lot of innovation in gameplay and mechanics BUT there is zero innovation in it's item progression, the sheer amount of gambling mechanics in this title is atrocious, worse than those seen in mobile gatcha titles.

"Fans" and "POE1 veterans" that "hate" POE2 (in reality - calling out all the mistakes was made while some of them was even solved already in POE1) wouldnt care if POE2 suit their style, but its developement would affect POE1 over the years gradually and to make matter worse in this year in league cut.
Personally, POE2 could be w|e buggy and unfinished mess for years to come if POE1 development regain pace and volume. If it does not- i can be sure ill hate how "new" POE make almost every aspect of the game worse and be very vocal about it.

I have never seen haters enjoy the downfall of a product as much as "supporters" of the studio, who constantly brag about how much money they whaled (and who ostracise others for not "supporting" the studio as much as they do), do
It's not hate, it's just that people here are saying how it is when they don't like something. That's what happens when you're on Reddit, where you can't criticize anything. That fu*kin forced positivity ruins everything.
I trully believe that every "hater" you call have better intention for this game than any who say only positives about current game state.
